Fox River Brewing Co

Fox River Brewing Company is a huge, self contained, restaurant which is adjacent to the Fox River Mall food court. It has a bar in one corner and an open kitchen in the other. In between, is a wide open dining area with many regular tables. The menu has a wide variety of choices, so I wondered about execution. Thus, I was pleasantly surprised by our piping hot dishes and their excellent textures. The flavors were spot on as well. I had chicken and waffles, and my cousin had fish and chips. We loved them both. The fish consisted of big, flaky, dark beer battered, cod fillets which held together nicely without being greasy. So, the fish and chips descriptor is accurate. The chicken was crispy and the breading was well seasoned. Either dish is a great choice. The staff was friendly and responsive. They brew their own beers and have a nice cocktail menu as well. I'm not much of a shopper, but this place might turn me into a mall rat. You know how you catch a rat, right? You put out good cheese! Of course, the curds there were good too. Nibble, nibble, zap!

Had a decent atmosphere. Had a flight of their beers... None of them were really great. My husband nor I liked any. The waitress seemed indifferent. The burgers were cooked ok very "bloody runny" if you know what I mean, like they didn't rest them before plating. We had asked for well done. The burgers themselves were good but there was no flavor at all. Tasted like plain hamburger. The fries were good. Overall we were disappointed... Wouldn't recommend and would not be making it a stop if we ever came through here again. Oh we were on vacation from out of state and asked the waitress for recommendations since we like to try what restaurants are famous for.... She wasn't able to give us a straight answer. Even when she asked if we liked the beer and we said no, she said "I don't understand, do you want more or what?" So needless to say yeah... Not a highlight for our trip.

This was our first day in Wisconsin and we decided to try Fox River Brewery and we were not disappointed. We started with the cheese curds and a beer flight with local craft beers that were outstanding. If you have not had a blueberry style beer you need to give it a shot. The fish and chips were really good and came with 3 huge pieces of fish. Our server Ben was really awesome and very helpful when trying to decide what to try. There is not a better way to start a fun weekend get away then with a good meal.

So.. we came here during lunch on mother’s day, which naturally was busy, and that was expected. Sat down for our lunch, got drinks and menus, bartender was great and food was awesome- no complaints there, but.. i have worked in hospitality for 10+ years and i have never seen a bus boy in shorts and a sweatshirt looking like he just came from a fricken gym, they were way too short (def not professional attire), he was on his phone texting at the end of the bar (very inattentive).. you can’t tell the servers from a manager from the hostess. restaurants like this should have uniforms and not look so sloppy, it looks very unprofessional.

Nice place for a good selection of craft beers. I had a nice imperial stout. The dinner menu have several things that looked good. If you like Mac and cheese you should try the blackened chicken Mac and cheese. They slice the chicken into strips and place them on the Mac and cheese. If was all very good.
