Fat Matt's Rib Shack

I loooove Fat Matt’s. They are literally the best ribs I have ever had. They fall off the bone and have an amazing flavor. I also really enjoy the atmosphere. It’s a ‘no-frills’ kind of place but has so much character. The service is always fantastic, the foods amazing, and I am always glad I came. Definitely recommend.

Went there yesterday for late lunch / early dinner. The hostess was gorgeous and incredibly kind, quite lovely — I am sure she is responsible for a majority of repeat customers. Who fall in love with the ribs and her professional manner. Oh the ribs yes they were quite tasty. Great smokey flavor and smothered with BBQ sauce that was some of the best sauce I have ever had. The baked beans were tasty, but maybe a tad over cooked. I love small one of a kind restaurants like Fat Matt’s — all the staff were gracious and welcoming. Ambiance was delightful and perfect. Old family recipes and cooking philosophy. Food was lip smacking good.

Hole in the wall BBQ and blues music place. Great BBQ. The collard greens are some of the best I’ve ever had. They have a small stage in side. Not sure if it’s every night but from the looks of the schedule on the door they have live music most nights. The only negative about this place is the parking. There is only 15 spots if that and not a lot of options if the lot is full. I would recommend you Uber or Lyft there. Oh and try the sweet potato pie.

Wow, let me start by saying that I'm not usually a big fan of ribs because, as you mentioned, there's often hardly any meat on them. But the ribs from Fat Matt's completely exceeded my expectations! And the surprise didn't stop there – they have the BEST MACARONI I've ever had! Seriously, a delightful revelation for my taste buds. You definitely get what you pay for, and then some at Fat Matt's. Not only is the food fantastic, but the atmosphere is incredible. The cook there is a true gem; he knows how to create a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone, making people laugh and feel right at home. Fat Matt's Rib Shack is undoubtedly the go-to spot for authentic BBQ. Please, do not sleep on this place – it's a hidden treasure you need to discover! Customer service? 100%. Environment and cleanliness? 100%. Food? 100%.
