Cafe Intermezzo

Quaint and hidden location opposite Perimeter Mall, next to Fidelity. Cute enclosed patio, French decor and jazz playing to enhance the ambiance. 10 min wait on a Saturday morning was reasonable. Now, my favorite part of the dining experience was the Server, Ramiro!!!! 10/10, He belongs in a high end fine dining establishment and made me feel as if I was in one. Extremely polite, attentive, knowledgeable, instinctive, friendly and prompt. What more can you ask for?! The food was fresh and tasty. The vanilla chai was perfectly pressed and full of flavor. To top it all off, a nice dining out experience was under $30 with tip. I'll be back!

My overall rating for the different areas is not high, but I do actually really enjoy this place. If I was closer to this location, I'd go more often. The vibe here is very chill and perfect to just grab a drink, whether a coffee, wine or etc and sit in the open patio area and sip on it, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Not only that, but this is a great date spot. They have areas that definitely give you that really romantic feeling, but also, the patio areas are that nice mix of intimate and casual. There's potential for spending a bit so word of caution if a date is your plan. The food is decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but just well done that you don't feel like you're getting ripped off. If you're not feeling something heavy, you can get a charcuterie board that you can customize to fit your party size, whether 1 person or many. The sweets here are great though. I've enjoyed all the pastries and cakes they have available. Definitely won't go wrong there. Now, I rated the service low cuz I've had such a mix of experiences. Last time I went I had a wonderful experience. Constant checking up on me, food and drink brought out in a very timely manner, and the overall feel was great. Another time I've gone, it took 10 to 15 min or more to let us know they didn't have something we asked about and it even got to a point I wasn't even sure they were coming back to check on us and we still hadn't even got our check yet. Then, my worst time I went, it was around 9 to 10pm. I came in to get a coffee and a light meal and I felt quite ignored after being seated. I sat for at least 15 min before my server even came by. It was long enough I saw a table of 4 sit down about 5 mins after me, and they had enough time to order drinks and have them brought to them before my server came by. The rest of night went like this. I was ready to never come here again, but every time before that was a great experience. These two bad experiences were multiple years apart, but I remember those incidents and it's something I have to think about when going. Ideally, I hope none of you who reads this have a bad experience here as most of my visits have been exceptional, but I have to mention it. Overall, I still highly recommend this place, but it has its issues here and there. Give it a try, it's worth it if you enjoy more upscale café experience

Love this place. Been my favorite spot to get coffee in Atlanta for the past 10 years. Service is always great. Everyone who comes here says their coffee is amazing. The food is great as well. Their crepes are very tasty. Their cheesecake is amazing as well. Highly recommended. One thing is they used to open in the Am before covid. I really hope that they’ll consider doing that again.

- Beautiful, Exotic ambience - Lip smacking food - Super quick service My husband and I were looking for a romantic, yet 'the food should be good' kind of place for Valentine's and boy, how Cafe Intermezzo fit the bill! The place was subtly dark, yet perfectly lit for a date night, especially Valentine's. The cafe is entirely decorated with exotic showpieces, rustic ceiling fans and one thing which caught my eye was the 'Aladdin' carpet /rug kind of thing dropping down from the ceiling. From the 'Small plates', we had Hummus with Naan. For a person trying hummus for the first time, this did not disappoint me! It was creamy and buttery and the garlic oil was on point! The main hero was the Naan, I can't begin to explain how soft it was and how good it tasted with the right amount of salt/sour. My husband had Hot Chocolate Berlin as a beverage and when I had a sip of it, my whole hot chocolate world turned upside down! Never in my life have I had this kind of hot chocolate which was soooooo chocolatey, creamy and simply amazing. I wanted to try something different from this and ordered Hot chocolate Deluxe, but carelessly looked away from the 'shaved dark chocolate'. For a person who's an absolute sweet lover and not a fan of Dark chocolate, this beverage took me away from the extraordinary Hot chocolate Berlin. A blunder on my part :( For mains, we had Tomato and Basil pasta - per the name, the dish did its justice. I loved the way the pasta was cooked & had the right amount of basil flavoring. But the dish had a lot of tomato sauce/base which I didn't like (not sure if that's the way the dish is supposed to be!) As if this didn't make me full, I had Hazelnut Chocolate - Banana crepe. The crepe was really soft and had a lavish sprinkle of pecans. Although I felt it could have used a little more Chocolate because some parts of the crepe was bland with only the pecans. (The portion is quite huge for a dessert, something to be kept in mind for the next visit) Overall, a really good and romantic dining experience! Would definitely keep coming back just for the Hot Chocolate Berlin :)
