El Ponce

A really charming restaurant in Poncey-Highland! Great decorations both outdoors and in. Like any self-respecting Tex-Mex joint, the chips and salsa are on the house. Go from 4-7 PM for great Happy Hour deals, both on food and drinks. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly (admittedly, it was not busy when I was there). Only one complaint - the bathroom was a tad cramped. Regardless, a great spot for dinner and drinks, whether solo or with friends!

Really enjoyed our dinner. Everything was great. But as a restaurateur, I don’t like gratuity already being added in and not being told. I usually tip 30-40 percent. But felt a bit shady to already have gotten 20% and not say anything. It should be said out loud in my opinion. And what if the service was horrible? Weird approach, but thankful the service was decent.

Service was great, the food was good but I do like some other places better. The portions were big, and the soft drinks were in a can or bottle, with no free refills. Checks automatically get a 20% gratuity added to them regardless of party size, which the service was definitely worth it. Prices were higher than most other Mexican restaurants I've been to.

I LOOOVEE this restaurant!!! It is one of my favorite places to dine! I have been dining at this restaurant for years and I’m always pleased by the food and service I get from Olivia and Roberto!!! They always make sure my food and drinks are perfect!!! This is my treat I look forward to at least once a week! I will continue to go there for as long as they are open! All new to Atlanta or if you are a native you have to go there and try them out ! You will not be disappointed! I love the chicken soup, chicken nachos, quesadillas, Texas margaritas, guacamole dip, and salsa and chips! Best authentic Mexican in Georgia!

I’ve come here several times, especially when they have a local mariachi playing. They have great outdoor seating no matter the season (with heaters for the winter and fans and umbrellas for the summer) The food is always AWESOME and it’s very authentic. Their elote and chicken mole are my go to order. The staff is also super nice and accommodating (like Olivia—she’s super great!). Their drinks are delicious and not over priced for the amount you get. I appreciate that they add gratuity to your bill because they’re trying to take care of their workers, especially during a time with low wages and high unemployment. This place is worth visiting!!
