Get Dinner To Go

I really wish I could give them a 5! But I can't. First I want to address what's great about this restaurant. 1. The young woman who answered the phone was pleasant and patient as this was my first time ordering and I had several questions. 2. The flavor of the ribs was very very good. I ordered 2 full racks for my family as we have four sons ranging in age from 5-19. 3. The two meals were prepared quickly and packaged so nothing spilled or fell out on the drive home, which I really appreciated! I HATE getting home to find out that my food juices leaked all over the inside of the bag! So the fact that I didn't have that problem was a plus for me... After that, is where this began to go down hill. I get home unpack the ribs, which were great! and When I unpack my four sides, (two come with each meal) I'm sitting here looking at them expecting them to actually grow into family size sides because they obviously gave me sides that hadn't reached adolescence yet, let alone be big enough to actually be considered a family sized side. Now the problem I have with this is when I attempted to order the two slabs of ribs by themselves, I was told I could only order them in a meal and needed to order to meal sides with them. Now if I'm being required to order a meal size side them that's what I expect. Now to put it in perspective, just to make sure I wasn't crazy I dumped the mashed potatoes into a bowl with measuring markings on the side. Welp... The meal size side measured less than 1 cup! Say what now?? So unless you only have 1 and 1/2 people to feed don't order the meal expecting the side to meet up with your expectations. The other star fell off because I had to cook three sides (macaroni and cheese, green beans, and mashed potatoes) just so hubby and our sons would have enough to eat with the "meal". Now when I order a meal I don't expect to nor should I have to go home and cook sides in order for the meal to actually be a meal... But aside from that, and the fact that my two youngest would NOT eat that macaroni and cheese they made. I would go back. I'm just not getting the sides...

What a great eating experience! The food and service have been consistently wonderful. My family and I have been eating at Get Dinner to Go for several months, and we are hooked on the Ribs and Mac & Cheese. During my last visit I forced myself to try something different to determine if the remainder of the restaurant's menu was just as good. OMG!!! I am now addicted to the Blackened Chicken Pasta and Baked Ziti!!! Thanks Get Dinner to Go for coming to my kitchen aid!!!

I decided to try this restaurant recently and my review is a mixed bag of great and not so great. The eatery is evidently still in its infancy stage as it was sparsely furnished but quite clean. The cashier was very polite and professional which was a nice touch. I thought the prices were a little pricey for food that is ordered at a counter but I was open for a change. Ja' Chelle provided some nice entree suggestions and I opted for the Ribs and shrimp sampler, I would have preferred a sampler of all 3 (chicken, ribs and shrimp) instead of two choices. I was a little disappointed with the portion sizes in comparison to the price. The ribs were primarily 1 small and 1 tiny section of rib tips. They were quite tender but lacked flavor (dry rubbed). I honestly could not taste the seasoning and I noticed a few cold spots indicating that the meat was not heated thoroughly. The shrimp were succulent but lacked flavor too, but the portion size was generous for the price. A key ingredient listed on the menu is sofrito sauce which has a popular base sauce in Spnish cooking but that flavor was missing. I think the restaurant is keeping things blander than they should as not to overwhelm the meats, but seasoning only enhances good quality foods;). The fries were well seasoned but offering seasoned rice and maybe a warm roll would make the price more palatable. There were a few celery stalks in my container and I'm sure why since I didn't order wings, I'm thinking it's similar to putting fresh parsley or kale on a plate for decoration. I also decided to try the white chocolate cake, I'm amazed that this too lacked any discernible flavor. I even tried the icing and still could not taste the white chocolate flavoring which should be quite sweet since its blended with cocoa butter and sugar. I believe this restaurant has potential but the owners/chefs need to step out of their play-it-safe zone and season food to taste as do cooks at home. Maybe going to a liquidation store or estate sales to get furnishings that will give this restaurant a personal touch along with sprucing up the store front will go a long way in bringing in more traffic. Amp up your marketing efforts after you have remodeled. I may try lunch one day because I think they are on the right track.

Exciting to have healthy options in the Cascade corridor! I've tried the salmon (original), the Cajun chicken pasta, and the shrimp linguini--all savory dishes. A little on the pricey side, but the excellent customer service and cook-to-order freshness more than make up for it. They keep me coming back.

I ordered an Atlantic Salmon dinner blackened with green bean and broccoli. The green beans are canned and not fresh the way they appear on the website but it wasn't a big deal. I began eating my salmon and noticed it was raw and cold on the inside. I brought it back in and the lady offered to put my partially eaten salmon with tartar sauce all over it back in the oven. I declined and asked for a half rotisserie chicken which is 5 dollars less than the salmon. I asked to change the beans to asparagus. The women denied the request because it's an up charge. I pointed out that the chicken is less than the salmon so I should be getting a refund. She stated she could only replace the salmon and not give me a refund for the difference. I'm assuming they don't know the implications of eating raw under cook food especially seafood, or I would've been refunded. The rotisserie chicken was subpar. Came in a container full of the juice it was cooking in. I'm assuming it was baked as rotisserie chicken has skin that is browned as it rotates and doesn't come in juice. Idk. I would've been better off going next door to publix as I normally do for way better quality chicken and customer service. I'll spare myself from getting sick from raw food and wasting my money and go elsewhere
