The coffee is actually good and sophisticated. I got the espresso straight. Tasted like an authentic. Bitter notes in the after. Typical for a dark roast. Would come back for sure. Like that they provide a soda water with the espresso for cleansing of the palate.

When I looked up the highest rated coffee shop near my hotel in downtown Austin, I found this gem, and it did not disappoint! My lavender latte was perfect and the service was outstanding! Highly recommend!

I dropped in for a coffee on a Saturday, and it got busy with a chill sound vibe. A simple shop with seating inside and out that suggests drink/eat and move on.

Good cold brew. My wife got a vanilla latte. Admittedly, there was something a bit different about the vanilla that we didn’t love, but the latte was done very well and the atmosphere here is beautiful.
Above and beyond for customer service. Our barista was on point - professional and fast.

I walked here because it was close to my hotel and I read good reviews on the flat white. When I walked up, the barista was having a personal conversation. I stood there for a bit and then she looked over at me and asked if there was “something I needed.” I said that I’d like to place an order. She addressed me as if I was a vagrant and bothering her. She was fine after that first interaction but it’s certainly a turn-off when your initial impression is not a good one as a paying customer. The flat white was satisfying. I’d return and hope for a better initial interaction next time. The atmosphere is quiet and there are places to sit inside and out.

I had a fantastic experience at Houndstooth Coffee! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends or some quiet time. Their reserve coffee was exceptional, and the chocolate croissant was a delightful treat. Highly recommend.

Houndstooth is a classic coffee shop that has clearly honed their craft of delivering staple coffees. Nothing crazy about this place and the menu is just about as standard as you can get, but don’t get me wrong, it’s good! It’s central location makes it the perfect pit stop during any errands you may be running, plus service was super speedy.

No frills, but just what we needed. 4 stars because nothing pushed me over the edge for 5. I went to Houndstooth around 7:30 in the morning on a Sunday after a night of fun...and drinks. We needed some coffee. I had a dirty matcha latte, which was only okay but did the trick. My wife had a vanilla latte she said was good. We also had a chocolate and plain croissant, both were slightly above average. I'd go back for sure, but nothing blew me away.

Nice place to sit and talk or work for an hour or so. It gas a freak vibe, and the coffee is good! Very well priced as well.
The Japanese Ice Coffee is a nice chill drink to try.

- Black coffee had a deep, rich flavor. Very pleased
- Interior is spacious and clean. Also plenty of seating outside as well. Lots of people around; I would imagine this has to be a top coffee shop in the area
