Hop Temple

This place is a true hidden treasure. It’s eclectic decor keeps you in constant awe. It’s casual yet sophisticated. The food is super fresh and absolutely delicious. The Sidewinders are fluffy on the inside and super crispy on the outside. You better be hungry when you get here. Lost a point due to it being so loud. Turn the volume down on the music and you have 5 stars.

Absolutely love visiting Hop Temple! A hidden gem of Ballarat that you need to visit! 🍻 Whether you're a Ballarat local or just visiting, this is one place you need to stop in at! There are heaps of craft beers on tap, delicious cocktails, wine and so much more. The food is always amazing as well. I highly recommend getting a heap of different dishes to share, (especially if you are with a group) so you can try a bit of everything on the menu. There are plenty of meals/options that are safe for the kids too if you were to bring them along for a visit. I personally love the wood fired pizzas, the meat platters, the popcorn chicken (pictured) and the Skillet Mac and Cheese with Truffle (pictured). The venue itself is absolutely insane, with lots of space and heaps of different sized tables, as well as an outdoor area and upstairs function area. For such a big space, these guys have done such an amazing job at making it feel very warm and comfortable, especially during the colder evenings in Ballarat. I highly recommend booking a table in advance if you can as they do get super busy!

It's a pretty cool vibe a place you would take the family for an event, sadly the whole place prices it's self above standards, we ordered 3 dishes as a kinda share plate all priced at the high end, all turned up about 10 minutes after eachother all child sized portions? You can imagine being sat at dinner as 3 chicken wings turn upto 4 people, again food was average, and the kicker was the beer! $15 a pint was the cheapest drinkable beer, this could so be it just is either poorly managed or accepted by locals, I really just think they need to realign themselves with the economy, worth a quick pint, but not worth half the bank.

A spacious venu with lovely atmosphere and truly terrific and attentive staff. There was a mistake with our booking that was not at all their fault, but still the staff took every step to accommodate us and make us welcome. The drinks and food were delicious. Definitely worth another visit. I'm getting thirsty just thinking about it.

Have not had a disappointing meal here. Would have to be the best bbq in Ballarat. The range of beers is also awesome. We ordered the platter and between two of us could not finish it. The meat was well seasoned and soft, nice bbq flavour and the sides were delicious. Also has a really nice atmosphere and the staff are always so helpful and polite. Just a well rounded place to have a meal and a drink.
