Alonso's

I went to college years ago at Loyola just up the street from Alonso’s and remember it as an area institution, but I was very pleasantly surprised tonight when I had a dinner with friends that was just fantastic. The pizza was great, the crab and cheese topped tater tots were amazing, and the wings were crispy and tender. A wide selection of beers, including a good number on tap. Both the ladies working there tonight were totally Baltimore and a lot of fun. I thought it might be a little loud on a Saturday night, but the noise level was just fine for conversation at dinner. Note that around the back of the building which you can access from the street or alley on one side or the other, there’s a little parking lot with spots designated for Alonso’s and other nearby establishments. Be sure to stop and being mesmerized by the rotating tower of refrigerated cakes.
