Finding a place to grab a quick breakfast before starting your day is always a chore during vacation. Fortunately, we found this place pretty close to our hotel that serves up Japanese bakery items. It reminded me of our trip to Japan when we would start out each day with some freshly baked pastries.

I have been here several times and it continues to delight. The pastries are Japanese/French inspired but better than I have had after having been to Japan three times. The Beef Kare Donut is my go to savory option with traditional Japanese curry inside a slightly crisp donut. The castella donut is a more mainstream choice with roots in Portugal and a custard filling. The An Pan roll with red bean paste is my sweet choice because it's got just the right balance of sweetness and pairs well with the oat milk matcha latte. My son's chooses the Double Chocolate Melon Pan filled with whipped cream and the Oyatsu Dog. All the pastries are worthy. Come more than once to appreciate them all and enjoy them in the peaceful setting of wood slab tables and simple white chairs.

This place is great! From pastries, breads, savory and sweet, sandwiches and coffee: all of it is high quality and delicious. I like that the sweet offerings I have had so far are not too sweet. Really enjoy their lemon and blueberry parfait, and the jalapeño cheese bread is too good and hard to stop eating. Definitely a must try for anyone in the area!

This pastry shop has such cute, yummy pastries! My favorites are the Kare pastries, the melon bread, and these dorky little cream horns with the googly eyes! 👀 Service is always really friendly and accommodating, the space is big and clean, and it's always easy to just run in and out if you need something quickly.

The most delicious Japanese bread on the West Coast! All of the breads are super soft and fresh all the time. I loved the edamame kare donut as a vegetarian! The staff is super helpful and their customer service is great. The sandwiches are so yummy if you are looking for a salty option. I recommend to everyone in the area! (Went 4 times in 4 days in our visit to Portland)

A very nice Japanese bakery. The katsu sandwichws are excellent. You can always request a fresh one to be made if you don't mind waiting. The curry bread/donut is very good as well. A bit oily but the curry is nice and spicy. Had a few other pastries as well which were good. A little light on the sweet side but that was very pleasant. Ordered a loaf of the milk bread which was light and fluffy.

Must stop bakery in Beaverton. Their pastries are amazing - melon pan, croissants, oyatsu dogs. All so yummy and very reasonably priced so you can try them all! Their croissants (the plain butter and the prosciutto/Gruyère) are next-level - they have crispy, egg-washed exterior and buttery fluffy interior, just how it should be. Their sandwiches are also a must-try. The bread is cloud-like and perfectly dense and the egg filling is so simple but so well done. Both the katsu slider and the sandwich… Oh man. They put just the right amount of sauce on both sides and they somehow managed to maintain the crispy texture of katsu while cooling down the temperature to serve the sandwiches out of the refrigerator. It’s amazing. The bacon epi is also a fun-try if you looking for something more savory. Lots of butter with a punch of bacon. You seriously can’t go wrong with anything here. However, if you order a matcha latte, do not expect the sugar-slammed milkshake that you get from Starbucks… Oyatsupan uses high quality matcha, oat milk, and little to no sweetener. Their Gyokuro tea is fantastic. Coffee is… coffee. Nothing special. Definitely more of a pastry specialist.

Visited here to check out the one thing. TONKASU since it Japanese bakery then I would have to definitely try since I didn't get my fix while on transit from japan. Well the tonkasu was dry and not as soft as Japan. So kinda sad but over all. There are other breads there that I have yet to try. The place was clean and neat. The portion was good sized as well. Tonkasu cost 6 usd. I sat outside as it was so nice and clean there. Probably due to covid I don't see much bread there. So might visit again for the other breads.
