Steak 'n Shake

Have you tried the Butter Steakburger? It. Was. So. Good. I can't remember a burger ever tasting this good. I ordered it loaded and added sauté onions. The bun had a buttery seasoned mix of something on the bun that made it OH SO GOOD. The fries were hot and fresh. They have the kiosk ordering stations but they were very easy and you were able to order everything exactly like you wanted it. Steak-N-Shake also received a bonus point for serving Coke Zero.

The fries and shakes we ordered came out great. I am leaving three stars because the person working the drive through was incredibly rude. It wasn’t busy at all, I was one of three cars in line. The guy either hated his life, or just hated working at steak-n-shake. I understand how much it sucks working in food service, but don’t take it out on the customer who is actually being nice.

Frankly, not a fan of the new serving style--kiosks, serve myself eith drinks, even food. You'll do car hops, but not waitresses? Food was good, and milkshakes were phenomenal as always; the one waitress for the whole dining room was friendly, helpful at least. You used to be the one place where I could get a true glass, not Styrofoam. The charm has gone.

Great tasting food, as always. However, the cashiers are too quick "is that all? Is that all? Is that all?" After every item I placed on my order, everything I go. I would appreciate more time to order and not feel rushed. It's already rush hour and lunch break for everyone. I'm sure the staff feels the pressure during their peak times, and it shows. Small drink sizes varies everytime I go. Sometimes I get a medium sized cup and sometimes I get a Jr when I ask for a small. Other than that it has been an over all good experience eat wise.

This place is just getting worse everyday! The change of the restaurant as a whole, was a bad idea. This place used to be packed and the drive thru line used to be long….not anymore. It’s really sad. I hate the self order stations inside as well as the new decor. It just feels plain and boring inside. As for the majority of the staff, they could use a lot more training, especially in their customer service skills. If it isn’t the person taking my order that’s rude, it’s the person giving me my food at the window that’s rude. Tonight when I picked up my order at the drive thru window, I was told my total, then given my card back, and food and drink, then the window slammed shut!!! Nothing, not even a thank you, or have a good night!!!! So rude! My food was at least fixed correctly, but there were no napkins and worst of all, no straw for my drink!!! Basic things people, come on now!! Steak n Shake had better get it together, because otherwise I just don’t see them staying open much longer!
