Coco Izakaya

I thought this was purely Japanese food but when we came in a got seated i came to know that it is Japanese-Korean fusion. Even better! They have plenty of option to pick from and i mean plenty! We ordered quick a variety from ramen to karaage to bulgogi and seafood pancake. All were guide yummy. The trend of slow service is definitely something we've been seeing at all the establishments. I understand that these places are probably adjusting and the crowd of patrons could vary from one day to another drastically so scheduling may have been affected. Unfortunately i have deducted a star dur to this. We had to stand many times to even look for our waitress and thats Unfortunate. I was better off just grabbing the utensils and such myself so we could continue eating. Hopefully it will get better soon as I would like to comeback again. BONUS: They validate parking at the Bellevue Connection building so dont stress on parking.

My friend recommended Coco 2.0 in Bellevue because I wanted to try Japanese curry. All of it was amazing! Huge portions, staff wearing masks and we received great service. We got the pork Katsu curry 2* (delicious spice level), gyoza curry 7* (he loved it, I was near dying from one bite), and mango bingsoo. So delicious! We got lucky and sat at the outside section. Tables were well spaces. And we got to enjoy the curry with perfect weather. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. They have Korean favorites in addition to the izakaya options.

We did not have a pleasant experience here. We found the food to be pretty bad. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but my biggest gripe was with the "grilled mackeral". It's a LIE. The fish is basically fried. It is doused in so much oil that you can probably make a serving of fried rice with the excess oil. Yuck. Second, overall I felt like the food was not fresh. I am not accusing the restaurant, but seriously I felt like a lot of it was microwaved. Finally, why 1 star and not 2? Holy mother of god, is this place DISGUSTING? See photos. Window sills are dirty with food and stuff on it, bathrooms are miserable and yucky with exposed live wiring (in convenient reach of my toddler), the sauce bottle have seldom been cleaned, etc. If the public facing is so bad, you can use your own imagination on how it would be in the kitchen. This low level of cleanliness is a deal breaker for me. Won't return, won't recommend.
