Sangria Spanish Tapas Bar

We were greeted warmly and promptly taken to our table. It was a busy night and we did not have a booking. The waitress kindly let us know there may be a delay in our meal service due to the busy night. We order the Chefs Selection - 6 tastes and a drink. We opted for a mocktail instead of alcoholic sangria. The delay was no more than any other popular restaurant and in fact we felt they were quite prompt in our first dishes. The food was delicious - our favourite was the pork ribs. So flavoursome, but also light. Well priced, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and the best food!

I would have given this place 5 stars if the service/wait time was a little better. That being said really did love this place! [The pros] -They have a great allergy friendly menu - Garlic and onion free specific menu, as well as gf churros! - The food was fantastic; beautifully presented (honestly magazine quality) and quite filling. - Outdoor seating area is quite quaint and picturesque at dusk - Great place for a social gathering as it is quiet for good conversation - Would also be good for a small event to book out :) [The cons] -Took over 25 minutes to have someone come to the table to take our order - Did not received table water until the entres arrived almost 1hr after being there. - A few times had to go pick our own cutlery from the servers side table as napkins and cutlery were not replaced when tapas dishes were taken or new ones brought out - Almost 2 hours before desert arrived (we almost left before it did come out as it had been so long). But it was worth the wait. - The super cute outdoor area has a sewer smell every now and then (assume it's from a nearby building) The staff brought out incense to cover it when it did. -Stools at table are uncomfortable after being in them for a while. - Some sangria cocktails were a little watered down (may have been due to the ice)

Sticky Pork Ribs, Crispy Potatoes– Fell apart, was a melt in your mouth moment. This was cooked well, on a side note if two people are eating you do not need an additional side of patatas bravas as this come with a good quantity of potatoes in this dish. Lamb Skewers – Flatbread & pomegranate reduction – Undesirable, do yourself a solid and do not order this dish. The pomegranate reduction is outstanding however only enough to serve up for a very small child, the lamb was well and truly overcooked and the flavour was not something I would be returning for. Patatas Bravas – Potatoes, Spicy Tomato Sauce & Aioli – Crispy, well-seasoned and just the right amount of condiments on this dish, a must if you are eating at Sangrias. Scallops, Pan Seared, pumpkin puree & Jamon Dust – The scallops were average, noting noteworthy however nothing to complaint about either. Take what you will from that. Panfried Prawns & Local Chorizo – Again do yourself a favour and don’t order this. Bland is the only way to describe this dish. Piquillo Peppers With Goats Cheese – overly simple yet tasty dis, although this is not a difficult or complex dish it is done well.

This place is still my go to. I love the atmosphere and the food always deleivers. We must of been served by a new staff member recently and i feel like she needed some extra more training on how to speak to customers. Although she did her best, every question we asked was answered with a "i dont know i will check" we assumed she was new but even a simple " im sorry this is my first week here im still learning the ropes" would have been better then the same answer everytime a question was asked. Also the poor thing had to trapes up and down the stairs with each question. We were also a but dissapointed that we were not allowed to order the Gaytime combo which consisted of the Gaytime cocktails and the Gaytime churros dessert at different times. We wanted the cocktail to start and the dessert to finish but were not allowed to seperate them even though we would have been paying for all items at the end of the night.i get policy..but cummon. Apart from a couple of random things this does not deter me from coming back and loving it sick.
