Sizzling Sara's

Rio Grand is an open high ceilinged room that feels a bit caverness. The decor is indistinguishable and unmemorable. It's bathrooms a little shabby but clean and adequate. Because of the shear volume of the room it tends to be noisy. Those that like a quiet place to gamble won't like it here. Lots of Power Stations, a couple Ultra Vision and a few of the new machines scattered in groups of four to fill the large room. Grouped as such they seem to provide a bit more privacy and personal space. The staff is adequate but distracted. They are young and their social life follows them into the casino and of course they're more interested in their friends than the customers. The cashiers cage is mostly abandoned and I've had consistent trouble getting an attendant to first, find me in their system, then check me in, then keep me monitored if I move to a different machine. They are overly aggressive when one cashes in, hovering too long, expectantly radiating a demand to be tipped. There is no attempt to learn ones name and everyone is called honey with a condescending inflection. This can be galling and makes one uncomfortable. The usual food and beverage policies apply and there is a small restaurant called Sarah's. Their players club is the old run of the mill standard. Never explained, poorly understood, one could play for weeks there and their balance would never exceed the initial $5 received when joining their players club. All in all I'd call it your typical casino, decidedly average.
