Basmati Restaurant

So impressed with this amazing restaurant. After being at a close relatives funeral all day, 10 of us walked in here at gone 10.30pm at night, and they were incredibly accommodating to us and welcomed us in with open arms. The food was absolutely delicious and it was a really nice end to our emotional day. Thank you thank you thank you!!

We are staying the night in Birmingham and came here due to the reviews and we’re so glad we did. The food was amazing it was so tasty and we loved that they had their own twist on some dishes which made it so much mor enjoyable. We are huge foodies and love a curry most and this was perfect! Portion sizes were massive compared to what we get in London and I felt guilty leaving food because of how nice all the staff were! Would definitely reccomend and will be coming back again if we can!

The last time I visited Basmati was pre-covid and honestly I don't know why I left it so long to revisit. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, the food was really flavoursome with good portion sizes and brought to the table within a good timeframe considering it all looked very freshly prepared. We ordered the set meal for 2 (option B) and was very happy with everything. To be honest we probably should have taken some of it home with us afterwards as we were both very full when we left but it was too delicious to leave! I'm not sure if we were charged twice for the poppadoms (as I believe they were part of the set meal) but for the few pounds extra I considered that a minor thing so didn't question it. There is a small, free car park outside with a ramp to access the front door. The walkway is quite narrow but shouldn't pose any access issues. We will definitely be returning again soon once we've recovered!

Exquisite food, excellent proffesional service with prompt delivery. Every item ordered arrives fresh, the naan bread is cooked to perfection which is a tricky thing to get right, the meat in all dishes I've ordered is tender and of high quality produce. My partner orders a vegetarian main dish most the time and she is always impressed. After trying many differnet places all over Birmingham the 'Basmati ' is quite simply the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham and consistently delivers on its food and service. Keep up the good work guys. 👏
