The Old Hare And Hounds

Easter Sunday I was expecting it to be quite busy for lunch but think we booked a nice early time. We used Jam donut vouchers we had purchased before hand and the server was very helpful and we was able to redeem no problem (although our return later wasn’t so great when trying to redeem remaining balances on vouchers!) any ways we opted for the 3 courses which I think was £15.99 or £18.99 and I was very happy with all 3 courses, breaded mushrooms to start, just a nice amount, I had gammon dinner and ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, but really could have done without as the dinner was so big!!! Lots of meat. The gravy was lovely. Then dessert I had waffles which you are served 2, (if I’d not have had a started I think I’d have been able to eat both but had to leave one due to feeling so full up).

2nd visit in only a few weeks. My first visit was excellent. Friendly staff, freshly prepared food and a warm atmosphere. This time, quite different. Staff were inattentive and the food was delivered out of cinque with our fellow diners. One meal had to be returned, the chicken had been cooked to leather hard. Once replaced though, it was cooked nicely and was delicious. The venue was much quieter on this occasion and I did wonder if the staff were just having a more lady day. The food does represent good value for money, but I hope that if I visit again the staff are more on their A game

Visited with my dad daughter and grandad, food was great and fairly priced , the staff were friendly and polite. My grandad didn't enter his reg properly on arrival so was sent a fine in the post but I called the pub up and they sorted it out straight away without hesitation, can't fault them at all.

Just stopped for a quick beer after hiking locally. Nice choice of ales. I had Oakham citra,,, could have had more exexpt for driving. Talking of which the carparking spaces are very narrow hard to get in and out of your car as they are packed in. Otherwise clean pub and toilets and friendly bar staff. I was only there an hour so hard to rate fully.
