It was my second time coming here. The first time I came in months ago it smelled liked mildew so I walked out. I was the only one in the restaurant when I ordered my food. The food is great. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and a hamburger. They have many different toppings and sauces to make the perfect burger. The interior isn't well kept. The tables and chairs are old and worn out. The salt and pepper on the table was sticky, there was food on the floors and the ambience didn't feel all that good.

The food itself was really good! The mozzarella sticks are definitely a thing you have to get to start your meal. The burgers were very tasty and they had some very inventive options. Also really cool that they offered tater tots. My problems were the following: - The table was pretty sticky even though it had been wiped off - The place was extremely hot inside... pretty sure the A/C was broken or something, but I was sweating from the moment I stepped inside, which was unpleasant. - The burgers took awhile to come out even though it was not that busy. - They got my wife's order wrong, but we didn't say anything because we didn't want to wait twice as long for another to come out. I would definitely like to come back and try it again, though, based on the fact that the food was really good.

We stopped in here while visiting IU. Really good food, excellent service, and a good atmosphere. The waitress we had was as sweet as can be. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich (I forget what it was called on the menu) and it was really good. My daughter had a burger called an Archie and I tried it and it was delicious as well. My wife had a pork chop that I also tried and it was the best pork chop I've ever had. We would definitely go there again!

Opie Taylor's was a pleasant surprise! I had a very tasty bacon cheeseburger that reminded me of a backyard barbecue 'burg-- smoky, simple, very satisfying. Definitely order the tots- they're delicious and they don't cost extra with the order of a burger. At $11 for a beef burger, I thought it was very reasonable for a dinner on a bit of a budget. I admit service was a tad slower than I would have expected, and our table was just a bit sticky, but I think the food makes up for such minor issues. Would return!

Opie has really tasty food at decent prices. They had the main door open and it was a little warm in there the last time I was there. And the tables are sticky and could use a refinishing because you feel like they're dirty even though they're not. But the building and the restaurant are rich in history and are a must-see when you come to Bloomington. Food is very good but the restaurant left a lot to be desired the last time I was there

Good burgers with high quality meat from the local butcher shop. The mozzarella sticks are REALLY good, and I would 100% recommend you get them, especially if it's your first time. However I wish they had not removed the different sized patties for the burgers, as the standard size you can get is way too big, especially if you get a side. Please bring back the smaller patties!
