Lorena's Mexican Grill

I am going to preface this review by saying that the gentleman who was working when I stopped by today was working alone. Apparently someone went on vacation and left him to hold down the fort by himself. I think he was doing an awesome job, politely greeting each customer, repeating the order back to ensure he got it right, and preparing the food with no support. That being said, there were at least 2 couples ahead of me, so the wait was a bit longer than I would have liked under normal circumstances, but not excessive under these conditions. I ordered a "lunch special combo" each for myself and my son; 1 carne asada taco, 1 chicken taco, rice , and beans in each combo. Let me say, the carne asada was VERY good. Flavorful, with just the right amount of oregano, cilantro, and lime. The chicken was similarly good, but could have used a little more spice in my opinion. Your mileage may vary on that. The rice was good, but the beans tasted a bit thin snd watery, like they were using the same beans Taco Bell foes and added too much water when reconstituting them. All in all, my son and I decided that the food, prices, AND service deserve a repeat visit when the full staff is there and their at their best... so stay tuned for a follow-up review in the weeks to come.
