Bin 26 Enoteca

A girlfriend and I met at Bin 26 last night for a combination birthday/Christmas meal. Great location, easy to park in the Boston Common Garage and walk over, beautiful ambiance. The food was fantastic! We had prosciutto-wrapped pears, a bread basket (not complimentary), and olives for a starter. Split a bottle of wine. That was where things started to not go as well. The waiter was nice but seemed ill suited for the caliber of restaurant. He took our orders for entrees and a vegetable while pouring our wine and didn't put them in his handheld device. As we sat there and watched table after table get served after us, even though we'd come in earlier, it became evident that he hadn't put in our order. It was hard to get his attention (we were tucked in a corner by the window), and when we did, he came over and asked, "Are you ready to place your order for entrees?" Um...what? He was very apologetic and put them in immediately, but he forgot our asparagus. I wasn't pleased at the delay as I was paying a babysitter so an extra 45 minutes (between watching as other people were served and we waited, then finally receiving our meal) cost me money. The restaurant brought us a bit more wine to apologize, which was a nice touch. But the waiter really just seemed kind of dumb? I don't know how else to put it. Not great at following up and refilling water, not great at explaining the food or giving recommendations. Hopefully he was new and will improve because he was the only downside to Bin 26. The food we did receive was amazingly good and we'll definitely be back.

Food was really excellent. Pasta and fish were both beautifully cooked with no complaints. However wine was poorly served. Good quality wine was not decanted, resulting in last 2 glasses being undrinkable due to significant sediment. Full marks to manager, who removed wine from bill. Recommend, however be mindful to order faster rotating wine

Yes, please! We usually don’t care for Italian, but decided to step outside of our box. All the staff there were especially polite and tentative. Our experience was wonderful and the food was fantastic. The portions were just right instead of huge and overwhelming, which was fantastic. I loved everything we ordered. We will be going back.

We have been the beneficiaries of many phenomenal home-made pasta dishes at Bin 26; our favorite being the Bolognese. Every fish special has made extraordinarily fresh and outstanding. The wine selection is superb and our favorite culinary outing is the widely varying brunch menu. We have always had an excellent experience with exceptional service. Very highly recommend.

Update Nov2021 Great experience!! I honestly was not eager to come back Thankfully it was such a different experience this time Service was good and food was delicious Will def come back and upgrade to 5 stars if they are able to be this good again 3 years ago (2 stars) I did not enjoy the temperature (super cold we all we sitting with our jackets in), that they place you in the far end corner next to the restrooms while there were enough free tables (the place did not fill up during the evening), the music was off (more bar, almost club like) and the staff ( very impatient, removing plates while half of the party was still eating from the appetizers) The food was good (half pasta portions are really small). However the whole experience gave us a bad taste and the food could simply not compensate)

Came in 30min before closing. They were friendly and double checked for us to see if we can at least still place a dessert order. To our surprise we were able to order dessert and we were recommended the chocolate mousse, which we also recommend to others. A very light dessert that killed that sweet craving. Very nice ambiance and selection of wine! Looking forward to try more.
