The Dinner Party

The show was okay, everything else was horrible. 1. Service couldn’t have possibly been worse. Our friend couldn’t sit next to us, she didn’t get a starter plate or dessert, Silverware missing from the table, no bread at our table, and at no point they refilled any of the water glasses. 2. We asked if they’ll bring bread and the waitress said “I don’t know” and walked away. 3. After paying $80 per ticket, you get no drinks. We paid $3 for a bottle of water and had to pay for an extra drink that the bartender poured us by mistake, even though she made a mistake. 4. It’s a “cash only” bar. WHO CARRIES AROUND CASH ANYMORE??? 5. The food was so bad that I got sick after. You have the option of frozen/microwaved chicken parm or a tiny piece of white fish with half-cooked rice (barely half-cooked). 6. The staff serving the food could not be more rude and grumpy and miserable. I would NOT recommend the Dinner Detective, NOT a pleasant experience.

We had a good time, but we had realistic expectations of the show. Actors seemed new to their roles, I assume there is a lot of turnover. The announcer did an excellent job projecting his voice, others were hard to hear at some times. Mics & speakers would be worthwhile. The show was good, there was several things to figure out and good clues, which you'll see via QR code on your phone. I didn't quite make the connection to the final suspect, but maybe I missed something in their conversation. Lots of people called on to be questioned, unsure of they were all planted. Actors were definitely sitting at the tables. Tables were 10-12 people each, total of maybe 75 people. Food was ok. Small Caesar salad, rolls, chicken/pasta/fish, cupcake & coffee. Had the chicken and it was tough. Had ordered pasta, but they didn't have it :( Overall, it was a fun experience. Would I go again, probably not. Should you go? If you don't mind $72 for a medium meal and show. Manage your expectations and enjoy yourself.

Was expecting dinner and a show. Dinner was so/so and the show was bad. None of the actors were mic’d so it was less acting and more yelling. There were large gaps in the show where nothing happened and they gave you clues to look at via QR code. I’d have expected the show to eventually reveal clues and work toward catching the killer rather than be glued to a phone looking at fake invoices while the actors hang out back. Production value was poor, as said earlier there was no mics on the actors and at one point they brought out the worlds most quiet speaker to play an audio clue. To top things off the service was slow and the bartender couldn’t keep up despite serving only beer and wine, and two glasses of wine was $25 so you can’t even drink your way through this trainwreak.
