Montagues At Riverside

Undercooked raw eggs, toast so lightly cooked it was still bread, and everything was cold. Was keen to eat here because of photos of the food online, but the half dozen uncleared messy tables from the morning should have been a red flag from the get go. Service was fine but would not recommend if you actually want an edible breakfast.

This is exactly the kind of place I enjoy coming to and like spending my money. The staff ( husband and wife duo) are really friendly, kind, attentive and efficient. The food is tasty, cooked well and free of arrogant garnishes (a rarity in Southbank). I like that. It feels like someone who loves you has cooked your breakfast. A great start to our day and an entirely positive experience!

A wonderful hidden away Food Oasis and so close to Southbank. Food priced very reasonable and fresh. Wonderful smiling Staff who provide excellent service. Had the schnitzel special on a Tuesday night which is good value. There was plenty of food on the plate and was freshly cooked. Took a while from ordering till when we received our food so we had to eat quickly as we were going to a show at QPAC. The food was good and I would eat there again, but would get there a little bit earlier so we didn't have to rush. Highly recommended!

Had dinner at Montague Restaurant. We had the seafood basket with salad and chips. The meal was enjoyable enough however you could tell it was all out of the frozen packet. Also ordered a scotch and soda. The soda came out of a Black and gold soda bottle. This bottle had been obviously opened for some time and it was dead flat and my husband was charged $8 for the privilege. NOT HAPPY - wouldn't recommend to anyone🤨
