Red Lotus Simply Vietnam

Great place for a group or team lunch. The servers were attentive and the food was good. I had the crocodile curry and was happily surprised with the flavour. They've done a decent job on decorating the restaurant but the pricing was slightly high for the meals and atmosphere. They split the bill for us which is always nice for a group.

My friend and I ate dinner at Red Lotus early January, and it was arguably one of the worst dining experiences we've both had, to the point where it's necessary to leave a negative review. When we arrived, the restaurant was less than half full, with four visible staff on premise (not including at the back). However, after our orders were taken, we had to wait more than 40 minutes for just 2 servings of pho. The waitress also missed one of our entree dishes, even though we've repeated the order before it was sent through. It was very obvious that the pace and efficiency of the restaurant's service was extremely lacking, and not just for our table - two ladies across from us ordered two glasses of white wine that didn't arrive for a good 15 minutes. A large family with kids was forgotten at the corner table, and had to personally come fetch one of the staff for their orders to be taken. Other customers were left waiting at the counter for a long time until one of the staff noticed they acquired the bill. Not to mention the other tables that hadn't been cleaned up once customers had left. Also, while the food overall was flavoursome, the portion didn't at all reflect the high price. Of course no restaurant is perfect, and a lot of the times various factors could affect their services on a particular day or for a particular customer, but the experiences we had at Red Lotus Fortitude Valley was far from even being average. Would not recommend.

Pleasant venue for a relaxed lunch . Good service. I had the sizzling creamy butter garlic prawns which were succulent and cooked perfectly. My wife was happy with the crispy duck and plum sauce. We both enjoyed the special fried rice. With drinks came to about $60 which i thought quite reasonable. Would heartily recommend.

I took my wife there on Friday night for our wedding anniversary. I reserved a table for us earlier in the day and got an email back from the owner saying he would try and get us a nice table. That said, I booked late and for their busiest time. We dined at the Annerley restaurant. They were flat out but despite that we got a lovely table and were made to feel so welcome. It really made our night. The two wait staff were exceptionally friendly and we were doted on by the owner, stopping in and asking how we were going a number of times. Our meals were lovely. We had the Peking Duck rolls for entree then the chargrilled chicken and lamb dishes for mains. They were just excellent. The chicken and lamb were stand outs - we ordered them on the owners recommendation and just loved them. Melt in your mouth and perfect flavours. We live nearby and will be back for sure.

Having eaten at Red Lotus Annerley which is always a fantastic experience, we went to Red Lotus Valley. WORST meal experience in a very long time. I asked for pork with heaps of veges. I received mediocre pork with lettuce and tomato. My brothers beef was tough and chewy. We didn't complain as I don't trust anyone with my food after complaining. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS PLACE 👎

I ordered Salt and Pepper King Prawns. They were very tough and difficult to chew! I thought they were overcooked so the waitress offered to return the plate to the kitchen. However, the second time they were actually slightly undercooked but still very tough. I guess they were either cooked frozen, thawed too quickly, or were just poor quality. I didn't bother to finish them. At least we got a 15% discount because it was a Tuesday night!
