West End Garden

Was sooo hungry because I hadn’t really had food that day - mostly up and go’s because of time. The order took over 30minutes, I’m pretty sure Chinese Vietnamese restaurants are meant to be fast. We ordered sweet and sour fried pork, seafood ginger shallot and coconut rice. The coconut rice was alright, I could mildly taste the coconut if I had it plain. The seafood ($28) was a big disappointment. Came with 10 scallops and veggies that didn’t taste freshly cooked. The sweet and sour pork ($18) was alright. There are definitely better ones out there. I would recommend choosing another restaurant to visit. Or maybe I was just hangry and really tired.

Quite literally the worst money I’ve ever spent in any restaurant. Firstly we order a bottle of Riesling to the table and receive one glass of red, once re- clarifying we still get the wrong bottle, not worth trying to correct it a second time with the most unhelpful staff. Main came with prawns and chicken which were boiled, prawns with no flavour whatsoever and I wasn’t brave enough to try the chicken. Even after voicing concerns over the main reviewed no tangible help from staff, very poor.

We found this gem by accident, a pleasant accident. The atmosphere is relaxing, calming and inviting with clean tables and ambient lighting. My husband immediately decided he would try the Flaming Ribs, while I selected the Thai style seafood. Both dishes were very tasty and good serving sizes. Service was friendly and fast, despite it clearly being a popular little venue.

We had dinner on a night it wasn’t busy. My glass had lipstick from another client. They were very nice to help us to change it. Then when the food arrived I noticed a sticker still on the lemon, inside of my food. It’s not a very image, when the chefs don’t take the time to clean the ingredients; especially for a restaurant with above average prices. I won’t recommend it.
