The Reserve At Anstead

Food was delicious and we were spoilt for choice with what to order. They serve alcoholic and soft drinks and there was ample seating at the time we visited, although we envisage it could get quite busy during busy periods. Children's playground was great and you could sit quite close to keep an eye out.

My partner and I go here regularly enough, the food is consistent, it tastes great, and although a dollar or two higher than I would like to pay for this quality, the atmosphere makes up for the higher prices. We have been coming here for a number of years now, and it is with sadness that I have to say that the service has slowly dropped down from exceptional, to a level I would expect from a McDonald’s restaurant. Whilst waiting to be seated, several staff members glanced at us and continued to walk on as though we were perhaps ‘someone else’s problem’. At two points in our experience here, we witnessed one of the staff members swearing aloud, which in general, I don’t mind swearing, but in a restaurant as well presented as this, it was definitely out of place. If you asked me a year ago to review this place, I wouldn’t have been able to fault it, however, today’s experience, and a couple before this, have left me longing for those better times. If it weren’t for the food, as well as the general atmosphere of this once amazing restaurant, this would have been a three star review, the extra star is either for nostalgia, or the sweet memories from the better days. Great food, great place, sub-par service.

As locals, we visit here often. The staff is friendly and efficient. Meals are carefully prepared, tasty and generous. This place has a varied clientele and often faces very busy periods during the day and weekend. If there is a slight hiccup with reservations they are always prepared to accommodate wherever possible. A great place to meet friends and enjoy the friendly atmosphere 👍👍

Times have changed. Portion sizes have become underwhelming! We have been going here for years. Very sad to see.oir favourite place disappoint us . Unfortunately this time we had terrible service where the staff forgot to put through 3 major items. $14 for a single piece of toast with avocado. When I asked if it was meant to be 2 slices, the chef was quite rude. 4 people left hungry. Although quality of the food was still quite good.
