Stones Throw Cafe

Bike racks - that is nice! And hard to make a seating choice for the variety of solid options. A warm cosy feeling inside with tables, benches and stools and couches w/ a coffee table. Out the back ended up being the pick for this overcast morning, spacious, an open roof, and some effort put into the greenery that was scattered around the area. The coffee was good, but not cheap. The meal - Belaroma original - Was mostly let down by the singular slice and expectation of “Dark sourdough rye”…. hmm. The helping of eggs was generous but they relied on the flavour from the other elements, feta, avocado and chutney which were all good and served in appropriate amounts. As was the spinach, considering the lack of wilting, which was unexpected. Overall decent, but I was left with half a plate of eggs and no toast. The service probably won’t be memorable either way, so I think the feel of the cafe is the main card to draw me back.

Absolutely one of the best breakfast I have had in Brisbane. I had the Brisket Rosti and my wife had the Keto bowl. Superbly prepared and presented that tasted fantastic as well. The coffee and coconut mango smoothie was just right. I passed on my thoughts to the staff as we left and met the young chef, Beth, as well. She will go far if she wants. Do yourself a favour and give Stones Throw a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Well done guys! Billy. 🙂

Visited on a quiet Tuesday morning, enjoying a quick brekkie here! Clean interior with heaps of seating available. Ordered the chicken burger, avo on toast (add bacon) and two coffees. Was in a bit of a hurry, so was so grateful the service was quick and our meals came out super fast. The two sourdough pieces were tiny, but packed with avo on top- it definitely filled me up. The chicken burger was likewise tasty; we really enjoyed our meals here. My coffee was the best I’ve had in ages, so so smooth and delicious. However, the vanilla latte we ordered tasted a bit like medicine (from the syrup I assume) and hence ruined that coffee for us. Most of the staff working seemed really young, and didn’t really give us a friendly impression. It almost seemed like an inconvenience for them to serve us. This really wasn’t a bother though, as we enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back in the future!

Really like this Cafe. I visited once before. I always assumed it was small with just tables on street but it is much larger, though narrow inside. Lots of different seating options. Basic tables and high tables with stools an outside area which is nice in the sun and a couch, coffee, chill out area. Staff were good and food was also good. Only had sandwich and croissant and coffee but lots of other things available. I really enjoyed it and recommend.
