Sols Breads

Lots of food options if you have dietary needs including vegan, dairy free, gluten free. Lots of different cakes and healthy smoothies. Food was good. Staff is very friendly and gives you that community feel Just watch out though I asked for a plain croissant but they gave me jam and butter and charged me extra for the condiments.

Good selection of breads and pastries and good for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. My group had a vegan burger, açai bowl, eggs and toast, yellow lentil Dahl, and the sol benny. All were presented well and not too over the top. The portions were large/adequate but the iced latte and iced mocha were a touch overpriced. I personally would’ve preferred more non-vego options, but the vegan burger I had was good, with a unique sauce although it had too much dill (I’m not a dill guy). The açai bowl was as expected and refreshing. The eggs and toast were also standard and as expected. The Dahl was good but we expected a bit more Indian-inspired flavours or seasoning. There was also a good Dahl to rice ratio. The sol benny had a lot of unique flavours, with the kale being the highlight of the meal. There was an underlying feeling of everything being extremely healthy, which is what you expect from this type of restaurant. I also purchased a day old bread for $5, which was great. The vibe of the place was quintessential west end, with a outdoor dining space adjoined to the restaurant with succulents for sale. The coffee orders were average. Overall, Sol Breads is an average west end locale that is good and serviceable but perhaps struggles to separate itself from other more well-known west End eateries. The bakery is likely the best part.
