Funkateers Pizzeria And Gelato

Ordered for a large family gathering at 12:30, nominated delivery for 6:30 that night. The pizzas were delivered around 5:30… and were refused as not all members had arrived for the dinner, and there was no way to keep that number of pizzas hot as we were not ready to eat. Asked for the pizzas to be delivered fresh at the time requested (even printed on the receipt). Funkateers has the option to nominate a delivery time on their online order system. Even asked the delivery driver to ensure that these same pizzas weren’t delivered an hour later. So the utter pettiness of the team working Sat night 26 March, was to stick it up us as we had the audacity to ask for what we ordered - a 6:35pm delivery to be exact. They clearly placed these pizzas back in the oven, allowed them to burn, tried to freshen them up by dropping cheese or greenery on top so they looked better than hour plus old pizzas. This in itself shows the team sending these back for the second delivery at 6:30 knew they were less than suitable. The pizzas were dry and burnt. The boxes were completely dry, when usually the boxes become wet from the steam and moistness of the freshly made pizzas. Shows how long they spent being re-warmed. At the price they charge, this was totally unacceptable. Why allow a time to be nominated if you have zero intention of respecting the request of your customer. If they made them too early in error, why not communicate with their customer and discuss options available. I rang to complain. The manager knew exactly whom they were speaking. Her “I’m very sorry this has happened” meant she rolled the dice on whether I would bother to complain or not and lost. They did replace the pizzas … 45 minutes after the phone call but it left a sour note to the evening. I will never purchase from them again. Lots of other great local businesses out there to support that treat their customers with respect, but funkateers is definitely not one of those places. Would not them recommend to anyone ever again.

If you’re ever able to dine in, do it! Taste them fresh out of the oven wow. Pizzas are by far the best we’ve ever had and been many times over past couple years with the kids for a play for lunch and always consistent and yummy. Told my husband he had to try them and he craves them now. Definitely best around!
