Basil Fawlty is alive and well obviously running this cafe in a perfect location on the Esplanade. Food was OK although I prefer baked beans to be served warm not cold. Service was incredibly poor with junior, very junior staff who appear to have had no training. They ignored us and other diners who also resorted to getting their own menus, repeatedly delivered meals to the wrong tables and don't even know the difference between a salt shaker and a pepper shaker. And "sorry but we've run out of ham" "sorry we don't have any more normal bread" before 10am on a Saturday morning. I'm sorry that the amateur approach to customer service here spoils what could be a delightful spot for an seaside dining experience.
