The Yardhouse in Oceanside is meh because... Slow service. First of all, this restaurant received the 3 🌟 rating not because of quality of food or quantity of food, but because of the slow service. When you visit this restaurant during Happy Hour you will be happy to get so much yummy food for such an affordable price. Where things go awry is when you wait 30 mins for a To-Go box, or wait 20 mins for a drink refill, or wait 45 mins to pay for your check. The service here is just slow. With that said, the waitresses were are nice, polite, helpful, and patient, but their overall performance is really slow. I honestly think the slow services is due in part to staffing assignments per section. The food is truly delicious - especially when it is at Happy Hour prices. There is plenty of food to order and the details of the food as per the menu hit the spot for whatver it is you are craving. Each crunch, each bite, each fork full is something to be delighted about. The restaurant is attached to a shopping area/mall. So the parking can be a little difficult as it shares parking with other businesses. The indoor dining area is large and busy, not entirely sure they are abiding by covid-19 guidelines. Fortunately, they have an outdoor dining area where you can watch sports events on the outdoor TVs. Overall, if you are not in a rush and have a lot of time to lounge and hang out, this place is the place for you.

Service was friendly, not very prompt but we weren’t in a hurry so it didn’t matter too much. I wouldn’t suggest stopping in here for a quick lunch bite, maybe an after dinner drink or a leisure lunch like we had. The handcrafted cocktail selection was surprising since I had figured it was a beer place. Of course the on tap beer list did not disappoint. I believe it was equal to the same size as the menu. We sat outside and enjoyed the outside patio area and the fresh Spring air. The appetizer came out the same time as the food although we ordered them at least ten minutes apart. We were famished by the time the food got there and then it seemed like so much food! It’s all good though, the food was tasty and we took our time to eat at a leisurely pace. The staff did not make us feel rushed, so that was a definite plus ++ in my book. There seems to be a lot of options on the menu, but not too overwhelming. I just feel motivated to come back again another time. Maybe in a month when I’ve digested everything. *<~burp ~>* 😵‍💫🤤 It was a nice little joint to stop in at for lunch while shopping for my daughter’s prom dress. I would recommend this place to others in the area.
