Pure Pizza

You know it's a good place when the patrol cars are parked outside. My second favorite pizza place in town - I recommend getting one of their base pizzas and add a few extra toppings. The crust is thin crust but not too crispy and not too doughy either just perfect. I think the pizza itself is great but is slightly pricey for a 10" pizza once you add some toppings - probably a better value for MOD or Blaze for a personal pizza, giving a 4 star for that reason but I do prefer supporting local non chain restaurants. The restaurant is kind of funky or interesting setup as well since it's more like a house, but I always take the order to go anyways.

the pizza was very tasty with fine pasta and good ingredients, quality. I found the right price for a wood-burning pizza. I came here on a Sunday night and there was only one customer in the house. The request came out very quickly. The place looks a bit old, but I understand that it is part of the decoration of the place.

They've cut down table service, so you order up front at the door, then find a table where they'll bring out your food when it's ready. There's lots of seating, but we chose to dine on the big patio outside that looks like it would be a nice place to hang out in the evening, with lights strung around. We tried a couple of the $12 each 10 inch "craft pizzas". The "Deconstructed pulled pork" was interesting, with the pork buried under melted cheese, and the whole thing topped with red cabbage slaw. The salty ham on the "Pure Country" overpowered the garlic and basil. But, the crusts were deliciously light and crispy, with chewy air pockets from the hot oven. There are also sandwiches and calzones on the menu, and drinks were limited to overpriced canned sodas and bottled water in the fridge.

The pizza was good. We agreed that the Lulu was better than the pulled pork. We were a little disappointed to learn that their liquor license had expired so we couldn’t enjoy a cold beer with our pizza. Drink choices in general were very limited. They offered sprite, coke, Diet Coke, and water in a can or bottle. Looks like most of the business was takeout so hopefully as things get back to normal so will the drink choices.

This is the very first place we ate while in Charlotte. We enjoyed it so much we went back during our short stay. The ingredient were fresh and the food was very tasteful. We even got to experience this without the gluten and still amazingly delicious. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. they even were helpful in places to visit during our stay.
