Tacos El Nevado

I eat there at least once a week. The tacos are all delicious, the gorditas and sopes are also something I order regularly. The guacamole is fresh and goes great with an order of Pico de gallo-I like mine spicy, so I usually order a diced jalapeño on the side. There is a wide variety of drink options, but only beer if you want alcohol. The space is small but festive and there is usually a mixed crowd of people. If you like authentic Mexican tacos, this is the place to try.

I personally just order asada (steak) tacos and sopes from here and I haven't really been disappointed by the food. I don't try and order other items on the menu just based off of the other reviews. Additionally, when looking at the menu it just seems like the items on the menu are like every single other Mexican restaurant. Like I wrote in another review of a Mexican restaurant, it feels very much like a cookie-cutter Mexican restaurant around NC. Service is okay. If the waitress has one of those handheld POS machines, don't let them guilt trip you into tipping them more hahah. Also if you have a party of five or more, they automatically do a 20% gratuity fee I believe (READ THE FINE PRINT at the bottom of the menu).

When I told someone my son loves carne asada tacos, they gave us the name of Tacos El Nevado and said that this place had the best authentic carne asada tacos and we HAD to try it. We weren't disappointed! Delicious, fresh, simple. We also got the guacamole which was super fresh and yummy! Will definitely be back.
