Hands down, Zanzibar has the best West African food in the area. Everything is made with love. The wings and cassava fries are by far the best I’ve ever tasted. Many options for all!

I love coming to zanzibar. From the food to the environment it’s always a good time. The palm butter, fried croaker and potato greens are my favs! Oh and the bartenders are amazing!

Pleasant first time experience where I ordered my food take out. Sampled several items from menu including wings, palm butter, jellof rice and fried greens. Food was AWESOME...definitely traditional Liberian! My only issue was portions were really small for the price... being that my order came to $82 and some change! Wifey still gave a $10 tip for the great service! Now I really want to test and test other menu items!!👍😎

Great place , i went during closing time and they even gave me an extra fish with a nice little appreciating my service. will be back .. kitterly dry rice was 10/10 and fish was well seasoned !!

Food was great; but — why are the prices different almost $10 MORE than what’s on the menu? The waitress charged 24.95 for goat soup but on the menu it’s much less. Same with all the other dishes. Just change the menu. can’t afford to? Then use blank sheets of loose leaf paper and tape them to tables with the updates. The portions for the fufu and soup are so small. The pepper wings are wing dings/wingettes - we expected whole wings. The waitress was nice we enjoyed her. Service great. Just those prices and portions…

I Doordashed there and the food smelled so good, that I turned around, paused my dash, and had dinner there. It was SO GOOD! The ugali/fufu was perfect!

What a hidden gem on North Tryon Street in Charlotte. We already know the best food comes out of a small place in a strip mall, but this little African cuisine restaurant really impressed us. The food was outstanding. We tried things we have never had before. The Fufu (dough) was amazing, we dipped it in Palava Sauce. We also had a side of Cassava Fries. All the flavors were just amazing. Next time you pick a restaurant, try something new! I promise you won’t regret it!
