The Goddess & Grocer

G&G must have been manifested from my dreams because it’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a boutique grocer-eatery. In a city jam packed with hot dogs + burgers, I searched in vain for an oasis of healthy options. Luckily there are several locations around Chicago, including a bakery; but this store stands out for their excellent staff and selection. Be it soup, salad, or sandwich- there are no wrong choices here. Enjoy the ample servings, made with clean ingredients, without feeling stuffed, but don’t skip dessert. Their famous rainbow cake tastes as good as it looks on social media, but the cookies, cupcakes, and other seasonal sweets are also spectacular. Try the “puppy chow” cookie if you get a chance, and don’t forget to drag yourself out of bed for brunch before 2pm. I promise you won’t regret it!

Wonderful experience ordering through an app this morning. I had seen someone suggesting the Thai corn chowder and I knew I needed to try it. Absolutely delicious! Chicken shawarma wrap - FRESHHH, filled with flavor. Crispy breakfast potatoes were still hot! Very friendly and warm service when I spoke to someone on the phone. I needed to select a substitute for a menu item I ordered that was out of stock. They were very kind, patient, and offered me many options, this is the type of service you want when dealing with a situation like this. Lovely experience that exceeded my expectations. Give this place a try!

Anytime someone visits me from out of town, I bring them here first! They have everything someone could want; from super healthy salads to fresh made pastries. You'll find unique snacks hard to procure anywhere near Damen and brands you've never seen before. Their seasonal drinks are always surprising concoctions of flavors you'd never think to mix. I try something new every time I'm there. This place has an excellent selection of grab and go healthy foods and even better fresh made meals. I highly recommend this place for getting lunch and chatting with friends. The balcony has a lovely view, and there's a "Stay as long as you like" atmosphere. It's perfect for bringing a laptop and getting some work done or even a good book. If you like balcony views, fresh food, and good vibes - this is the spot

How is this place even possible? I swear Goddess literally never misses. Every time I eat from there I ask myself “how does a little local chain spot like this taste so damn good.” Also, how are the prices so damn good?? Chicken Club for $12 is healthy AND will pretty much feed ya for the whole day. Their coffee is killer, and their baristas/employees are extremely kind in a place where you would think they could be pretentious. I love how they are health and allergen conscious. Just all around amazing and I’m so glad I have them nearby me for my lunch breaks.
