First visit, very impressed. Food was amazing, so tasty and great variety. We had a range of dishes and everything was great. The drinks menu is extensive and whatvwe had was lovely. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back!
Found it a bit noisy but that's being picky!

Fantastic Japanese food and brilliant service. We all loved it and we're quite a picky bunch (elderly mother, vegetarian, teenagers... ). One of the best cocktails I've had. We'll definitely be back..

WOW, WOW, WOW! This place is amazing and I can't believe I have not been here before! It was really busy for a Friday lunch time but the staff were lovely, friendly and efficient and the food came out in a timely manor! Everything we had was beautiful. Karaage Chicken, Pork Belly Skewers, Beef Tataki and Crab and Prawn Sushi Tacos. We will 100% be back for more! Highly recommend! Nice work to the team at Bar Yoku!

Bar Yoku is my favourite restaurant in town. A family run business that is exquisite. You’ve got to get your hands on their famous sushi tacos, and their beef tataki is mouthwatering. It’s always got a great buzz to it and the team are friendly and kind. Highly recommend.

Hands down one of the best Japanese in the country! The salmon and white fish Sashimi was so fresh and delicious so much so that we ordered another dish as dessert. Service is outstanding. Friendly staff who go the extra mile.
Great atmosphere and well spaced out tables.
Having just moved from Auckland this will be at the top of my regular list.
Even fur babies are allowed.

Beautiful setting full of greenery. The food was very authentic and delishios. We had Agadashi Tofu and Karaage Chicken. Both were excellent. Reasonable price too. Highly recommend.

As if we needed another reason to love this restaurant - they have a Keto menu which was so delicious and so rare to come across. Staff were exceptional and we will definitely be back!

Me and my Mum Dined here on Tuesday night, food was excellent, our waitress was great and informative (not to mention cute) all round great experience! Duck Sushi Taco was epic!

Loved my first dining experience at Bar Yoku. The service was friendly and engaging. We had the soft shell sushi tacos- DELISH!! We also shared the Sashimi Platter - the best I’ve had in Christchurch. The fish was fresh ! We had the Tofu salad to share - loved the dressing. So yummy . Then we had to have the charcoal skewers - the prawns were tasty , loved the mayo dressing ( wasabi maybe?)
Can’t wait to return !! Only tiny Croatian is no chairs with back support for us oldies 🤣
