Utopia Ice

It was my wifes birthday when travelling in Jan 2023 and we both are from Australia so we had no idea where we could go for dessert in Christchurch. Luckily we found Utopia. The waffels are freshly made and are amazing, honestly. Soft with great flavour. We had the caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. By far a highlight of our time in NZ eating! Thank You :)

Absolutely amazing. Still salivating over the viet iced coffee flavour. Also had the greek yoghurt and sea buckthorn which tasted like a mix of calpis and yakult. Ice cream has a really crisp and pleasant finish that leaves you wanting more. It isn't too creamy to the point you're just thirsty. You just want more. Thirds or fourths? My only regret was not going earlier :(

I don't think I've ever visited a place like Utopia Ice before. They have some crazy and interesting flavours that make you feel like TRYING THEM ALL! (I personally have done a good job so far). And their waffles -with vegan option included!- are from another planet. Perfect for winter, as they're warm and delicious. Also, the place has a lovely decoration and their staff is the sweetest in town, specially Emilie who's always with a huge smile and willing to help you to decide (because trust me: it ain't easy!). You won't regret your visit, and you'll probably become a regular just life me because they definitely have the best ice cream in town <3 Totally recommended by @PigLifeDiary :)

The best ice cream in Christchurch. Utopia Ice doesn't ONLY cater to gluten free, vegan, and dairy free customers (though I am incredibly grateful they do!) They also have a diverse menu of dairy based ice creams, with flavours that you absolutely must try (that marscapone black boy peach!). They use local ingredients wherever possible, oh and did I mention the waffles? And the coffee? And the new cookies!? Go. Absolutely, you must go try them.

If you are looking ice-cream place than this is the best place in city centre near ara institute. We had ice cream after our dinner party. It was really great to have ice-cream there. Great option and good quality nz made material. They have option of dairy free and gultan free too. Seating arrangement was unique and good.

This (and their main base in Sumner) is simply the best ice cream place not only in town, but also on the South Island if not the whole of New Zealand. The ice cream is entirely home made (no nasties) with the best of ingredients. The flavours are amazingly special and change at a regular basis. Also don’t miss the awesome waffles (with ice cream of course). Follow them on social media to never miss what’s on at their places.
