Brotherton's Family Restaurant

Small town family restaurant. Our server, Angie, was amazing. She patiently answered my many questions I had, and had a great knowledge of the menu. Friendly, and served my second cup of tea with a fresh tea bag! I had the chicken parmesan, amd the portion was huge! The chicken was so good I could cut it with my fork. My hubby got the corned beef hash omelette. It came with home fries or hash browns , and choice of bread. He chose the home fries and biscuits. Those biscuits were mile high and soft and warm! He also got the Texas style chili, which has a great flavor. She offered us a cup of coffee and tea to go, which I had to decline from being so full!

I've had the pancakes, french toast, eggs chicken fried steak, hashbrowns biscuit & sausage biscuits. The pancakes tastes ok, they are good size. Most places (Perkins, IHOP) serve small saucer size pancakes. Not here. I'm usually a pancake person, but I think like the French toast better than the pancakes. Everything else I listed tastes good. I don't care for what they call scrambled eggs. They taste good enough but they are flat & look more like fried than scrambled. They are definitely not fluffy eggs. I was told it's b/c they are made on a grill. Even still, they CAN be made fluffy or at least fluffy compared to flat. I've done it. I guess cooking them flat on the grill is easier. If I was cooking a bunch of eggs all day maybe I'd choose that option too. Sometimes service is a little slow even when they are not real busy. Could be b/c you walk in & seat yourself so they don't always see you when you sit down (they have tall booths). The staff seems friendly & nice enough. Some are just more personable than others. However, we have never encountered anyone (staff or customer) being rude. As for wheelchair accessible, there are 2 tables where you may be able to place a wheelchair. If you are in a wheelchair I was suggest parking in the back. If you have someone w/ you I would suggest having them go in 1st to see if either of those areas are available or possibly call ahead & advise you need a wheelchair accessible area.

Everything was great until one of the servers started mopping to close and get out on time I suppose? The strong lemon odor ruined the end of our meal. Must have been using lemon quat sanitizer. That stuff gets in your nostrils and you can't taste anything else! You should never use scented cleaners where food is being served! Especially when folks are eating!!!

The service was pretty quick considering they were busy when we were there. I had the patty melt with added sauteed mushrooms. My friend and I shared a basket of French fries. Everything was hot and delicious! I've been here several times and always look forward to going back. They have a wide variety on the menu. I highly recommend going here!
