The Chef's House

I have eaten here 3 times and had very different experiences each time. The food is always excellent, with my favorite being the bacon cheese burger and curly fries. I have tried a couple different desserts and they were great too. The service can be very hit or miss. I have had to take my lunch in a to go box because it took 30 minutes to cook a burger. Overall a good restaurant, but don't be a hurry if you are going.

The food was fresh and delicious. We watched the chef grab a fresh jalepeno to add to the hash I ordered. I went with my 2yr old daughter and 11 yr old son. I ordered pancakes for my daughter and the waitress had asked him to make a Minnie Mouse shaped one to match my daughters shirt. It was wonderful and above and beyond. My son ordered eggs, bacon and grits. He loved them all. I ordered the hash and it was great. Tasted very fresh. It took awhile to get the food, but I told my son they made everything from scratch so that was to be expected. The place was very clean. The prices are a little high for the portion size, but overall a great experience. I will be back many times.

I called in an order @ 10:35AM, to be picked up @ 11:00AM. I ordered 2 bowls of soup. I sent my adult daughter to pick up. She arrived at 11:05 & the woman said "omg I got busy & forgot about this order. I don't have enough now but for one bowl & it's not hot, I will have to warm it up in the microwave." Please tell me why I was charged for BOTH bowls of soup when the ONLY bowl she had available wasn't even a full bowl??? This place came recommended by my coworkers at Southside Primary. I am NOT a happy customer!!! Poor customer service obviously & then was charged double...i will be putting the word out.

It was clean. Very LIMITED menu. Everything on breakfast menu was ala cart unless you wanted to pick 1 from each circle. The choices for that were limited. VERY pricey. Apparently ok though since they have explained the reasoning on the menus (this took up more space than the breakfast offerings). I ordered eggs over medium. Clearly chef confused about that. Eggs were golden brown. I ordered coffee and it came in a funeral home cup. And I was never asked if I needed a REFILL. I ordered biscuit and gravy VERY STINGY with the gravy. Barely covered biscuits. I had to pay extra for more.
