Sonic Drive-in

I would not even give it a 1 star except that I have to to write a review. Used the order on line option for the Garners Ferry Road, SC location. Wanted to pick up at 7pm. Arrived right at 7 checked in gave them my location. After waiting over 25 minutes went inside. Got home and all my food was cold, no sauce for popcorn chicken, even the ice in drinks was melted. Really Sonic?!?! Will not go there again. Very disappointed.

I used to love Sonic. First they changed their burgers and ruined them, but they were still edible. Then they lost their flipping mind with their prices. It's fast food, not gourmet. I realize this is partially a corporate issue, but I'm listing my reasons for my rating. The final straw for me was working late one night I ordered a milkshake. I had to send it back because it was wrong. I made to the first traffic light before opening the car door to throw up. It tasted like they put cleaning fluid in it. I had to stop going after that. I can't eat somewhere that I can't trust the staff not to poison me for something as simple as sending back a shake that wasn't what I ordered (It was the wrong flavor). I work nearby and I no longer eat there now because of it.

I usually order through the app and pick up in a stall. That process is very smooth. Delivery time to the car has improved a lot recently. However, customization of the order is often ignored or overlooked. Also, I was charged $.59 for relish on a hot dog but the app did not show that until check out, where it can be overlooked.

Even for places that are this consistently inaccurate, I’m not one to post a review, but it’s important people know this. The staff will intentionally give you the wrong food banking that you won’t pull around to the window again to get it corrected. They get the order right maybe 20% of the time (I’ve never been to this spot with more than 2 people) and I’ve always thought it to be impossible that they are just wrong this often. Tonight I went, ordered and confirmed my order at the window. They brought me the smallest, cheapest, burger they sell and ran back inside before I could look. I pulled back around to the window and the girl told me, “see, now I told them you’d notice the difference.” They know they are giving out the wrong food. And even after pulling back around to get it corrected, they still gave me the wrong order. I ordered 1 single burger. They just don’t care. Save your time and money. I won’t be back here and Sonic is my favorite fast food burger.

I usually have a good or decent experience ordering via the app here, today was a complete ball drop. I sat checked in for 10 minutes with my order showing “in the kitchen” while other customers came and ordered through the drive thru and got their order. It became clear no one paid any attention to my simple order to fulfill it and I’d be sitting there for awhile.

This sonic sucks. Almost every time I go they miss extra sauce that I pay for because I ask for it when I order. I always ask for fries in my chicken strip dinner and 9/10 times I get tots and have to walk to the door and make them correct the order. I get grilled cheese all the time and only one time have the buttered and toasted the bread, most the time it’s barely heated up. Then 99% of the time I have to pull up and wait on the order even if no one is behind me. Tonight I ordered a blast with Oreos, strawberries, and Reese’s cups. I got strawberry ice cream.

Me my mom and kids went here this past Sunday evening. I initially attempted to order from the order screen thingy. Push the button to order with no reply for almost 10 minutes. Got frustrated then went through the drive-thru. Once I got up to the ordering screen no one answered for almost 5 minutes. The speaker equipment was in horrible shape, along with no one coming over the mic to say I'll be with you in one moment please" so I assumed it was just broke and we had to pull around to the window in order. After pulling off, I then find out you had to order at the speaker and I was just being ignored I guess. Anyway get up to the pickup window, by this time I'm very frustrated and annoyed. One of the things I ordered was a grilled cheese. We get the food, I check it, and I kid you not the grilled cheese was literally two pieces of white bread with slightly melted cheese. The bread had not been toasted or heated whatsoever. There were other things wrong with the order as well, but by this time I just asked for my money back. Most of the people that work here are not professional. I will say that the manager finally came and refunded me and remade the sandwich, but still didn't make up for it very frustrating, time consuming experience.
