Lucky Bamboo

Unfortunately I won’t be back. I used to come here before my father passed and liked the restaurant. We had a doctors appointment on Feb 4 which was nearby and decided to grab a quick bite. It was my husband, Myself and my 21 month old daughter. The food was decent enough. Average Chinese buffet. Some items weren’t as hot as I’d hoped but the reason I won’t be back is the lady that sat us was unfriendly and asked my daughter’s age. We told them she was a year and a half. We got the bill and it said 3 year old and were billed $6.06 for basically a bottle of apple juice and a small 1/4 cup of peaches. They did not have prices listed anywhere. Most restaurants with kids her age offer a free children’s meal or give you options. There was no way for us to know prior I feel very ripped off and will not be back. I had fond memories going with my father but that is now tainted by how this restaurant treated us. I feel like either this lady was blatantly saying we were lying about our daughter’s age which I shouldn’t have to bring a birth certificate with me to prove but can. But in my opinion it is unethical to charge that much for someone who can’t physically eat much at all and to be unfriendly and rude on top of it.

Okay, I have to admit, the buffet is sub-par. BUT. If you order food, from off the menu…not only is it hot and FRESH. It’s delicious. For a cup of egg drop soup, some fried wontons, an egg roll, some cashew chicken, and white rice…$7.25 (at lunch time) YOU CANT BEAT THAT. The waitress there is super sweet, she’s always there staying on top of things. The bathrooms could be cleaner, other than that no complaints. I come here all the time, love it!

Absolutely filthy. All of the "decor" built in above the food buffets/hibachi area is COVERED in thick dust wafting in the A/C breeze just waiting to fall in people's food. The floors are sticky, the tables are sticky and the serving spoons are sticky. The bathrooms were dirty. The noodles were soggy, the chicken on a stick was jerky and all the chicken dishes were sickly sweet. The waiter brought us drinks and we never saw him again. We ended up going up to the drink fountain area and serving our selves. So disappointing to see this restaurant like this.

I drive through Colombia once a month or so and I’ll come to Lucky Bamboo from time to time. My overall experience with them is good. It’s a good place to eat when you’re just looking to eat, it’s nothing exceptional. You probably won’t look back 10 years from now and see the Lucky Bamboo shining so bright as to mask out other memories due to sheer quality. Overall, I’d say you get good value for your money, though.

I got the buffet to go I ask for the strips that go with the soup. I was told they were .50 a bag I told the girl NO if I was eating there I could have all I wanted so the small bag should come with the soup! I did not get them. The food is not as good as it use to be so sad they were once good it will be my last trip.
