Poet's South

I come to poets quite a bit and always love the coffee. However I went this morning to get an avocado croissant and the avocado was as hard as a rock, and there was no pickled onions on it as stated on the menu..I paid $6 for something I couldn’t even eat and probably won’t be back anymore. I wish I would’ve taken it back in but did not want to be that person.

I love Poet's South; however, when I frequent the store on Friday mornings, there is a young lady who says they can not make the breakfast sandwiches because their oven is not turned on. Although, I visited the store the same time on the previous day, and they were able to make the sandwich at 6:45AM. This young lady said she was not able to make the sandwhich two Fridays in a row because the oven was not hot, and she just got there. The second time I said I was happy to wait the extra 15 minutes for the sandwhich. Once I said this, I noticed her toned changed. I waited in the drive thru line, and two cars left that were behind me. In my experience working morning shift at a restaurant, you should prep the floor for the morning rush, such as turning on the oven. I also noticed the store's open sign and lights were not on. However, Google says the store opens at 6:30AM. I feel like there is not consistency in service between her shift and another time's. Kinda makes me not wanna go back.

Just left a packed house at Poets South with only TWO guys running the show. Drive thru wrapped around and four people ahead of me in line and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Not only taking drink orders and making them, but making food AND stopping to wash their hands between. I was so genuinely impressed by their skill and the level of calm maintained.
