Sushi Maki - Coral Gables

Loved the atmosphere of the place! Possibly because they had the movie Rush Hour playing at the time and it definitely made the experience more enjoyable. The food was delicious, I highly recommend getting the Tuna Poke Nachos to share with a friend! It's also near a local theater and a bookstore, so a perfect spot for lunch and dinner while looking around.

The sushi was good and pretty fresh. The rolls aren't the biggest and are just about normal size. The salmon nigiri was very good and fresh. The selection of rolls is limited which is why I only give this place 3 stars. I ordered the Coral Reef and Whole Foods Rolls. The Coral Reef was the winner out of the two. Love the fish tempura on top. Nice addition to the roll and I recommend it.

I ordered the grilled chicken teriyaki, the Cali roll and the dragon roll. The rolls were delicious! Definitely satisfied my sushi craving. I gave it four stars cause the rice that came with the chicken teriyaki was super hard. Ended up having to toss it. Not sure if it was made fresh or over cooked. But the sushi rolls made up for it!

I used to love sushi maki but it seems to really have gone downhill. This is supposed to be fried rice but it’s flavorless, steamed white rice with a few pieces of pineapple and barely cooked bacon. Guess we ordered too close to closing time. It’s especially frustrating when delivery is so expensive.

Me and my husband stopped here for a lunch time snack and we were surprised! We are so used to getting small rolls but these were larger and much more filling. So fresh and delicious! We left stuffed! Definitely some of the best sushi we have had! Service was also quick and friendly! Suggested rolls: Crunchy Roll (has some heat behind it) Volcano Roll (hot saucy topping) Dragon Roll (BEST ONE I'VE EVER HAD) Coral Reef Rool (so fresh and diverse!)

One of the best sushi options in the area! I’ve been to them all and this Sushi Maki consistently ranks as one of my top go-to sushi options. The sushi here is always fresh and the tempura is always crispy. We’ve had numerous items on the menu and have always been pleased with our orders. Our favorites are the dragon, red dragon, and budda-cane rolls. The service is also so welcoming. Leroy is the best and is always so friendly and attentive and provides great suggestions. Between the food and the service, this place is hard to beat.
