Little Buffalo

What if you could take the best food dishes from 4 of your favorite restaurants as a kid? Well you'll have Little Buffalo. This is a great find tucked away in Cranford. From burgers to wings, hot dogs to mac and cheese, they have something you crave and they make it fresh. I had the burger and it was great Cooked on a nice flame, it was full of flavor. The fresh custom made bun, puts this burger over the top. Wish I had a Little Buffalo in my town. Cannot wait to go back again.

My feelings are mixed on the Little Buffalo. It's a cute little place with an interesting concept. It's a small menu of popular dishes from Buffalo. So far my favorite is the Beef on Weck sandwich. It's served on a great roll with Caraway seeds and pretzel salt on it. The roast beef tastes good but I would be shocked if it was made in house. It tastes more like something purchased at Restaurant Depot. What really puts it over the top is the horseradish on it. The curly fries that they serve are pretty bland. I had one of their signature hot dogs with meat sauce. I liked it but my mom who tried one also did not. Another dish that had two frozen burger patties with cheese and meat sauce was terrible. I still hope that this place makes it. With in house roasted beef, better preferably hand cut fries and fresh burgers this place could be special.

The wings are just average - I was expecting better and bigger for the price and name, and I was really disappointed that a wing shop couldn't be bothered to make their own blue cheese dressing! However, I appreciate the traditional style, unlike the breaded ones found at most local pizza places. Not on the same level as Thirsty Turtle or even Kilkenny wings though. I held off reviewing after my first order made soon after they opened, which had missing sauces and barely edible burger pucks, so I'm assuming they've gotten it together a bit more since then - at least they're open past 8pm now.

Just tried for the first time. Beef on Weck was great, as were the curly fries. They let me try the signature meat sauce with my fries, which had a pleasantly unexpected Indian flavor. Must have been the cumin. Will definitely try their wings next. I like the idea that the menu is simple and straight forward, not trying to do too much too soon.
