Portillo's Crestwood

As a stock holder I try to frequent any and all of the Portillo’s in my area. The Crestwood location has great food, always fresh and hot. And here comes the BUT, but they can never get the complete order out to me. It’s become such a theme here that I saved their number to my phone contacts so I can call and tell them I’m coming back to grab my missing items.

I'm not from Chicago, and my friend here tells me there are many Italian Beef places but Portillo's is #1. I got the Italian Beef with hot peppers and a Chicago style hot dog. The Beef was fantastic and I could have eaten another lol. The hot dog was good too but I would have traded it for another Italian Beef!

Big disappointment when we got home, ready to enjoy our Portillos combo. Is this the impact of Covid19? This doesn't look like the usual combo I've gotten from Portillo's for many years. Really skimped on the beef; for the first time, can actually see the sausage before taking a bite! Definitely not a $9 sandwich! And already home, so not driving back out there today. Visited this Portillo's location as our second Portillo's visit ever on our way out of town since we were told that we had to try the chocolate cake and chocolate cake shake. Portillo's definitely knows how to make a chocolate cake moist and delicious and the chocolate cake shake is a crazy rich decadent dessert drink that was too rich for any of us to want to finish. Enjoyed the italian beef& sausage sandwich again and tried the onion rings and ribs. Would not bother with the ribs again as they took an extra long time compared to everything else, were slathered in a mediocre sauce, and otherwise did not have much flavor. Still a fan of Portillo's with all the variety of fast food done decently at a good value with decent service.

If you’re considering getting delivery from this location, just light your wallet on fire instead. 3 of my last 3 orders have had quite literally half, if not more, of the order missing. The drivers are partially to blame for thinking 6-7 items fit in one bag. Even dining in they somehow always short me something, though not as drastic as when I order online. I know good workers are hard to come by but this is bottom of the barrel. Foods good when you actually get what you order.

On 5/10/22 at about 630 pm I went to this Portillos. Kudos to the team and management as this is the first time in a very long time I have gotten my order correct, fresh and all the staff I came in contact with acted like they live their job. Whatever you all did to achieve this, PLEASE keep up the great work. If I could give 10 stars right now I would. Good job!
