Half Shells-snider

Awesome place! Their oysters are always delicious, and we usually get the Gulf Oysters! Last Wednesday they had half off wine which made their wine prices reasonable. 😅 I love the rainbow trout and ruby red. Even the fish and chips are delicious. The fish with the chips is always wonderfully fried. Portions are pretty good too because I'm always too full for dessert after. The wait staff has always been friendly and offer the best table service. I've never felt ignored and I feel the waitress coming as my cup empties lol. It can get busy here and kind of hard to find a seat at times!

Love this place !! The oyster nachos are soooo bomb !! My step mom ate three orders today ! And then she gave me orders to go get her bread pudding… They accidentally gave me banana pudding, so I called them and the manager and Avery were so nice that they gave me the bread pudding and added a Keylime pie for free and apologized, and I was very impressed with the service. Everything that they serve is amazing in the atmosphere is really cool and intimate. Thanks for being so awesome 👏!!! Oh yeah and you have to try the crab bisque oh my God it’s heavenly.

This is an adorable gem at Snider Plaza. My best friend and I stopped at Half Shells for lunch when we arrived to Dallas from Austin. We were famished so we got to try a few items on the menu. Here's what I have to say about Half Shells: Atmosphere: the place is small, cozy and beautifully decorated. The seating is comfortable and appropriately spaced. Service: Alex was our server. He was incredible. He was hospitable, attentive and came around regularly to check in on us, refill our waters. The food was prepared and brought to us in a timely manner. They also made sure our entrées didn't arrive while we still had appetizers (personally, I find it a bit overwhelming when everything comes at once and defeats the purpose of having apps and entrées). Now onto the star of the review: Food: OMG, that's all I have to say. No I have more to say, haha! For appetizers, we ordered the Oyster Nachos and Chargrilled Oysters. The photos don't do it justice, honestly. The oysters were cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. Not overpowering and wonderfully combined with the other ingredients. We were hesitant about trying the soups because we had ordered a lot of food, so Alex later brought us samplers of each soup and omg, I wish I had room for more. I'd consider this my dessert! For our entrees, I ordered the Seafood Platter and Rainbow Trout. So well done. Overall, one of the best places I've eaten at. I highly recommend you stop by if you're in Dallas. And for us Austonites, I think it's worth the drive! ;) Thank you, Alex for an amazing service.

Where do I even begin, Half shells is one of my now fiance and I's favorite date night location, and this 5 star review is long overdue! We found this place through a google search as decided to give it a try, since we both love seafood. We were blown away by how friendly the staff was and welcoming. Their seafood is fresh, and very reasonable in comparison to anywhere else. I decided back in may, to propose to my fiance at their restaurant, and called a few days before to see if they would help with the execution. They were more than happy to help out, and made our special moment even more special. The owners are genuine and honest, and their food is top notch. If you haven't eaten here yet, then what are you doing??? P.s. I waited tables for 8+ years, and their service is top tier!

I stopped by for lunch yesterday with my friend and we had the pleasure of getting Lu as our server! She was great, never had to ask for anything and she was perfect at suggestive selling. Throughout our visit the manager Fernando exceeded our expectations with his genuine care for showing TRUE hospitality which is rare these days. We will 100% be back to this location, the service we got form everyone was great. I wish I could give them 5++++ stars!
