Darwin Waterfront Precinct is a credit to Darwin. It’s so beautiful and a great day spent here with family or friends or couples or on your own. Cafes including The Coffee Club and shops to buy souvenirs. Lounge chairs to sit on the surrounding grounds along with lounge beds. But get in quick, they mostly all taken. But the biggest surprise is The Wave Pool and it has lifeguards. A wonderful walk around looking and then over to Stokes Docks, maybe. Or the next day.

Coming from a major city, this place made me feel right at home. It was beautiful with plenty of places to eat as well as an ice creamery to help cool down. The wave pool was heaps of fun and the swimming beach is app within walking distance. Would have loved it to have more shops there to look around in which is the only reason for 1 less star. Plenty of shade and places to sit. There is also a car park which provides free parking for the 1st 2 hours and then you pay. We paid $13 for over 5 hours which I think is a really great price.

A really nice place to chill out, especially when you have to kill time before heading to the airport. Lots of chairs, day beds, sun decks to sit or lay on to read a book or browse on your phone (under the sun and shaded). Great vibes with all the restaurants buzzing (though it is peak season right now). Also has a pretty big playground for the kids.

I am originally from Melbourne, so my experience may be different to those of who are locals. There are so many things to do and see, such as enjoy a swim or bake out at the wave pool (which by the way is only $8 for entry!!) Or to enjoy some gelato after a date night at one of the restaurants along the waterfront. There is a free exercise strip (with bicycles) that is installed on the grass just by the wave pool and controlled/man made beach. As well as many opportunities to take a tour around Darwin CBD with the electrical scooters (which are powered by the app called Neuron Mobility, which is found on Google Play and Apple store) that are parked along the waterfront. There is also a range of different tracks you can walk along, and other activities that you can get involved in, such as the inflatable playground, mini golf and ride on the ferris wheel!! I urge you to come here! Look out for the sun though, and be sure to lather on sunscreen to enjoy the full experience of the waterfront. Most importantly, have fun and soak in the beauty of the aqua blue water whether this is on a boat or admiring from the pier!
