The Buff Club

Support the local pubs. Buff Club is a local heritage pub in existence since 1961 (and more). Service is efficient and staff are friendly. Buff is where you will meet locals, participate in great events (ukulele club meet on Tuesdays) and decent food. I ordered the prawn linguine and I wanted more (21$). The Buff Burger with chips is a beast to handle (17$). Bus from city available. Must try while you are visiting Darwin.

Not been here for a while. My friend was curious to try the place. We went on schnitzel night. Beef and chicken schnitzel were $15 and $14 respectively. We both had beef and my friend had parmy upgrade for only two bucks more. Both meals were superlative. The spring rolls were excellent and the fried ice cream was a magical vietnamese influenced variation of the usual, which was simply superb. I have not had its equal. The coconut was served with a palm sugar syrup drizzled over it, cashews and the ice cream itself was wrapped in a thin pastry and shallow fried. Just divine!

I was stranded by an uber in the local neighbourhood and I am not darwin local, I called a taxi that never arrived so I saw this place and asked if I could wait inside due to be scared of the wauderers outside. They took me in and waited with me, taxi never arrived but they signed me up for a member ship and got me on a courtesy bus. The manager and staff are absolutely beautiful and I will never forget that kindness.

Another new group running the dining room. On a Monday night the Buff Club is quiet, which is my preference. Servings are large. There is little choice for vegetarian. However there are some good items to choose from on the menu with a discount for members. My friend enjoyed his fish, chips and salad. My salad with pumpkin and walnuts was reasonable for a light meal. We will go again and try something else.
