I stopped by this place today. I was greeted with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. The owner, Melanie, was such a joy to meet. Her bakery was clean and neat. I ordered red velvet, strawberry crunch cheesecake, and carrot cake. I only tasted 2 of the 3 bc the 3rd will be for someone else. My reviews are as follows: the red velvet cake was very moist with a vibrant color of red. The cream cheese frosting had a bit too much confectioners sugar in it, bc of that it made the frosting a little grainy textured and a tad bit oversweet. The strawberry crunch cheesecake was almost excellent. The look of it is pretty, the cheesecake is cream cheese forward(which I luv) and the cake part was moist. There wasn't a strong strawberry flavor to me. So my suggestion would be to make a strawberry syrup or incorporate fresh strawberries (in or on it). I'm glad I supported her today!

The shop is cute, clean and at a convenient location. The staff was friendly and courteous. I liked the pound cake and that there were various options. I prefer cake that is a bit lighter/airy. I got a cheesecake option and the key lime cake part was good. I personally didn’t care for the cheesecake part of it. If you visit I would say stick to what you know and like or go for the pound cake options. Pleasant experience overall (just doesn’t replace my current top picks for cake vendors)

The last few times I’ve gone the experiences have not been pleasant! They seem to rush you out and then make up COVID rules as they deem convenient!! Im pregnant and picky so me picking out my slice means a lot to me! The lady/man told me once she/he picked the slice he couldn’t put it back!! So if i told him/her to pick out 5 slices and my card declined then what? Where those slices going to be thrown away or put back? If that’s the case wear gloves!! Just make it make sense to me!!! Also they have started to put so much icing on the cakes it’s not even tolerable! There are several dessert shops around with better service, prices and taste but this is the black owned neighborhood shop so I try to support but yeaaa NO!! I’m done!

A Little Slice of Heaven Bakery are the new owners that took over the Sweet Blessings Bakery. They had a soft opening a couple weeks ago and will launch their grand opening on 6/29/2019. Today my daughter and I stopped by to check them out and was surprised to see a friendly staff at the door welcoming us. Both women (staff) were friendly and professional when telling us about the cakes. You can order a whole cake in a variety of flavors, choose from their pre-sliced offerings or their mini bunt cakes. I was delighted that they had sample chunks out as well. We purchased 4 mini bunts and one of them was a vegan blueberry. Everything was delicious. The shop is also neat, clean and inviting. Will definitely return!
