Was so happy to find this place! I was attempting to return some reusable containers we got from DeliverZero for take out at another place and this restaurant accepts those containers to be returned. We were there to try out the food because the menu looked really good. had the Choook for You and the chicken curry sandwich as well as margarita. First off. They do a FANTASTIC job eliminating single use plastics. All utensils, dishes and cups are reused. They have a water dispenser that you can get your own water. Not only was the food delicious I felt so great eating in a place that is doing good by the environment. The place is small but so cozy it feels like a neighborhood joint. If you order take out, you have the option of paying just $1 for the whole order to get the DeliverZero containers and then just return them in 3 weeks so you don't get charged. We will be eating here regularly!

I’m obsessed with this spot. Truly haven’t tried something I didn’t really like. Love that I can pick and choose sides of varying healthiness without having to order too much. The chicken noodle soup is SO GOOD! It has taken me 4 years to find a delicious soup for when I’m sick. My only ask would be to sell large containers of it 😂

I wanna give it 3 but the goddess salad and the gravy have me feeling gracious. To be honest, their chicken is kind of boring to me. I get the dinner for two and just eat the sides and make chicken salad out of the chicken the next day 🤷🏻 The mashed potatoes are good permitting they haven’t run out at 6:45 on a Tuesday night. The gravy is really the only sauce you should concern yourself with. I’ve tried the others and they’re okay. Peri peri tastes like how gym socks smell. Chimichurri was a nice attempt but so boring. Anyways, that gravy. So good. Goddess salad is so strange but I crave it. Not even sure what all the ingredients are, don’t really care. It’s probably the furthest thing from a salad but good god is it tasty. Mac n cheese? Good. It’s a little pricey for one but I get the two pack and I get 2.5 meals out of it. Maybe 3.5 since I make chicken salad with the meat. They have beer, and the gal at the corner lets me sample the seasonal ones which is nice. My biggest gripe here honestly is the lack of sweet tea. I seldom drink alcohol but will treat myself to a beer now and then. But what kind of chicken shop, that features “Your mamas gravy” on their menu, doesn’t give me the option to wash the gravy down with her sweet tea? I’m not talking any “local organic blah blah blah” or “we can add simple syrup to it”. I’m talking diabetic episode inducing, Luzianne brand brewed right into the sugar so it dissolves and stirred until it’s foaming up top. Get with it chook.

I met a friend at Chook for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t insanely busy at 12:30pm and my friend and I were able to enjoy a long lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich and absolutely loved it. In fact, before I left, I bought a pint of their chicken salad to bring home. The service team was pleasant and helpful, and the restaurant was clean. I’ll definitely be back!

First visit to Chook. This is an ‘order at the counter and they’ll bring the food to your table’ style restaurant. The woman at the register was very friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu options. We ordered the avocado sandwich and the BLAT sandwich. Both were excellent. Also got the roasted veggies and potato wedges. Both very good. Prices were good for the quality of the food. Will visit again.

I travel for work and am always excited when I find somewhere healthy to eat! I ordered the Chook For You (single diner) which came with the chicken and a side and was more than enough for one meal. Let the staff recommend the side if you are unsure. I had a glass of the house white and my meal was perfect. I couldn't make up my mind on a sauce so the counter guy said he would pick some for me to try. Folks seated nearby had salads and I'll try that next. Everything was extremely fresh and the atmosphere is soft and easy. You order at the counter and they deliver to the table you choose. Parking is a pain (hello city life) but just ask a local on the street and they will tell you pull up to a curb. While you're there, wander in the bookstore down the street.
