El Palacio Mexican Restaurant

I hate to give a bad review, but if it will help the restaurant to wake up, it will be worth saving our favorite restaurant. We have been eating here for 40 years and it used to be the best anywhere around. That is no longer the case. We eat here a couple of times per week. Chilli rellanoes are great, but that is because they are made in Blanchard, Okla. The service has become non-existent each time. I would plead with the owners to, please, look at your business and regroup, before it is too late. I would encourage the owners to compare your business with Ted's in Lawton or Norman to see a good example of service. Your prices are high for Mexican food, which is fine if your restaurant is top quality and it use to be top notch. Please, bring our favorite restaurant back up to what it use to be. You still have time to bring the restaurant up to the highest standards. For the time being, we will be driving to Ted's and give you time to get your house back in order. We are confident that you can do it.

The food is delicious, therefore we regularly order takeout! I love the Chili Relleno and my husband likes the catfish. However, at our last dine in experience there seemed to only be one waitress, but there were about 6-8 tables with guests. We and those around us had to wait for our needs most of the meal. I was a former server for 10 years, so I can understand things being hectic. What made mine and my husband's jaw drop was when we put in our meal order, we also ordered a meal to go. After we were done with our meal and had waited for our ticket and to go order more than a reasonable amount of time, the server came up to us and asked if we were ready for her to put the ToGo order ready in. My husband and I looked at each other mind blown! As a former server, I would have put the to go order in when I delivered the dine in guest's food to the table, then I would have time to have it bagged by the time they're ready to go. Not after they had already finished and had been waiting a bit to leave! Are you kidding me!? In conclusion to this review, I would say that they need more staff actually serving (three were standing around at the host stand), and they need to be trained in the handling of Togo orders put in by the dine in guests.
