Little Sichuan Express

I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but I was so disappointed with the food today. This is the smallest size of numbering spicy beef combo I ever received and it cost me $20; even with the inflation, the portion is ridiculously small. Before pandemic, it was <$10. Other restaurants in the area sell it for $14.99 with a larger portion. It’s also not spicy at all. The only flavor I can taste is salty. It’s a shame for a Sichuan restaurant to sell a spice-less spicy dish. I wouldn't recommend this place anymore.

I’ve gotten food to go from this place a few times during the pandemic, and mostly enjoyed them. Saw they started indoor dining so decided to come try in person. I don’t think they are quite staffed properly for the lunch crowd. I saw only one person who was allowed to take phone calls, take orders from dine-in patrons, and entering in orders into system. I wanted to add an item, and that proved extremely difficult as I couldn’t flag down anyone. The table next to me waited a long time to order, the table across from me kept asking for their missing dish.. there was a long line outside of people waiting to be seated or to pick up their to-go order that weren’t ready. Overall just total chaos. Now the food. I ordered the numbingly spicy kidney and that was delicious. I didn’t realize that was a cold appetizer dish but that’s my own fault. Although I don’t know why they felt the need to provide a whole plate of cilantro… was a bit excessive. The boiling fish dish has good flavor, but I was a little disappointed that it only came with very small amount of veggies. I mean, that’s sometimes the best part of the dish, veggies on the bottom soaked up with delicious spicy flavor! One more thing- on the menu it says paying by cash gives you 5% discount above $20. I asked the waitress about it and she insisted it was above $50 and I must’ve read it wrong on the menu. I then showed her the picture I took which clearly says $20, then she said the menu is outdated and still will not honor it. I will live without the $2 discount, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Overall I would say food taste and value is 4 stars, but overall dining experience is only 2. I will not return until they straighten out staffing, if at all. Understand it’s difficult to reopen restaurants at this time, but I also think they need the honest reviews from their patrons to know what to improve.

We stopped here randomly on a trip & were pleasantly surprised. The food was superb & it was a pretty restaurant. We got wood ear pork hotpot, sweet & sour fish, & a delicious mushroom & greens veggie plate. Everything was very good, & even the spring rolls were way above average. If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely seek this out.

We have been going to Spices for the last 7-8 years! Today, THE FOOD DID NOT TASTE AND LOOK THE SAME!! The PORTION SIZE WAS HALF, no red chillies and the sauce was thin like water!!! Heard they changed the restaurant name and maybe a change in owner!! We enjoy the spices food almost 2-3 times a month. TODAY, it was a COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! This restaurant will lose customers overnight, if this continues!!! It’s a shame, We won’t be coming back to order from here!!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants ever. I come here whenever I want to satisfy my Hunan flavored spicy fried fish and chicken with rice craving, and trust me, this place never disappoints! I save the leftover peppers and put them on my home cooking and it's such an easy hack to make pretty much anything taste good.
