On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

Food took too long to come out. The portions left something to be desired and the food was not bad however they have been better in the past. We ate way too many chips and were almosy full by the time the food came. Us eating too many chips was our fault however if the food would have arrived on time we would have done better. With conversation and such we lost track of chip bowls.

Came here on Cinco De Mayo, a little after 7:00 p.m. I sat at the bar. Service was pretty slow, my waiter was somewhat erratic. He would almost run when he had to do something, like he was the only one working, but the place was well staffed, so the urgency seemed weird. Silverware, straws, and refills came a little late. My combo fajita order looked much like a lunch special portion. The rice and beans were cold and bland. When I picked up the plate I could feel dried food on the bottom. Asked for a cup of queso, I got a bowl. I asked for no sour cream and guacamole, I got both. The spots next to me at the bar sat dirty for a good bit, 10 minutes or more. I’ve been done with my food now for 15 minutes and still haven’t got my check. The Mesquite location is far better. A 5 star experience every time I’ve gone. I’d go there if you were craving OTB.

Ordered a to go order, when I went in there were only about 3-4 tables were people were eating (not busy) . I waited 7 minutes at pick up order desk with no assistance at att. Went to bar and had that person get someone ( during the time I was waiting saw 2 other staff waitress come out but did not help me). Finally staff came out and helped me. Just apologize and was not concerned about the horrible service I received. Then get a phone call that all my order was not in my bag. All together horrible experience. Will not be going back there are more places to get Mexican food and probably better food.

This was our second visit to OTB at the Nortwest Hwy in Garland location. We used to go to the Knox St., but it forsnothave dine in. Paul is the manager and he is so nice and iur waitress was Brittany who told us the best choices and kept up with us whatever we needed. They are so friendly and the fajitas are sooo good. It's quiet for conversation too. Also watch baseball or football. It's our#1 spot in Dallas.
